Job Description:
A rapidly growing veterinary practice is looking for an Inventory & Purchasing Manager to oversee inventory control and procurement across two veterinary locations. Your role is to ensure critical pharmaceuticals, controlled substances, medical supplies, and equipment are consistently available, accurately tracked, and sourced at optimal value. This role serves as the primary owner of inventory operations and partners closely with veterinarians, technicians, and leadership to support patient care, efficiency, and financial performance. Responsibilitie sOversee inventory management across both locations, maintaining optimal stock levels while minimizing waste and shortage sServe as CUBEX system administrato r, managing inventory tracking, reporting, and system optimizatio nManage purchasing, including vendor relationships, pricing negotiations, and purchase order executio nMonitor inventory usage, trends, and costs to drive efficiency and improve profitabilit yEnsure compliance with DEA regulations and state requirements for controlled substances, including audit readines sOversee receiving, reconciliation, and physical inventory counts; resolve discrepancies and manage return sMaintain accurate item setup, pricing, and integration with practice management system sPartner cross-functionally with clinical teams, operations, and accounting to support day-to-day needs and long-term growt h Qualificatio ns3-7+ years of inventory, purchasing, or supply chain experience in a veterinary, animal health, or clinical/healthcare setting strongly preferr edHands-on experience managing pharmaceuticals and/or controlled substances with a solid understanding of regulatory compliance (DEA, state guideline s)Experience with inventory systems ; CUBEX and/or ezyVet strongly preferr edStrong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive purchasing decisions and cost contr olProven ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate prici ngHighly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skil lsComfortable managing priorities across multiple locations in a fast-paced environme nt
