Job Summary:
The Director of Hospital Purchasing is responsible for managing the procurement functions of University and Community Hospitals, Ambulatory sites, and various affiliated entities, to include the purchase of all supplies, equipment, warranty services, strategic sourcing, and contracting for the 340B Program. The Director will achieve the financial and operational goals of Hospital Purchasing, maintaining the highest possible degree of customer satisfaction. The Director will be responsible for ensuring that the departments are compliant with NYS Finance Law, as well as other applicable State and Hospital rules/regulations/policies/procedures, for procurement functions. The Director is responsible to manage Hospital Purchasing Associates and Assistants, monitor operations and assign projects. The Director coordinates planning and development of HP operating and capital budgets, monitoring financial statements and variance reports to ensure compliance to budget guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Healthcare Administration or a related field and 5 years progressive purchasing, contracting or supply chain management experience required. Minimum of 4 years supervisory experience required.
Skills:
Negotiation, financial analysis, vendor management, regulatory compliance, and familiarity with material management information systems and Microsoft Office. Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree preferred. Experience in healthcare environment and/or with NY State procurement.
