Job Description

A large public sector organization is seeking an energetic and strategic Director of Procurement to lead procurement operations, ensuring efficient sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain management across a complex, multi-department environment. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, leading contract negotiations, and implementing procurement strategies that support organizational objectives. The Director will play a key leadership role in driving operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and fostering strong internal and external partnerships. Responsibilities o Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals, emphasizing cost savings, quality, and sustainability o Lead contract negotiations with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and organizational policies o Oversee procurement management activities utilizing ERP systems to streamline purchasing processes and materials management o Manage supplier relationships through performance evaluations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives o Coordinate sourcing efforts across multiple categories, including logistics, operations, and professional services, to optimize efficiency and reduce lead times o Implement contract management procedures to monitor compliance, mitigate risk, and ensure contractual obligations are met o Conduct market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities, evaluate pricing strategies, and improve supply chain performance o Lead cross-functional collaboration to support procurement initiatives and organizational priorities o Promote accountability, transparency, and consistency across procurement activities o Perform other related duties as assigned Education o Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required o Master's degree preferred o Professional certification such as CPSM, CPM, or similar preferred Experience o Minimum 7-10 years of progressive procurement experience o Minimum 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in procurement or supply chain functions o Demonstrated experience in a highly regulated or compliance-driven environment (public sector, government, or similar preferred) o Experience leading competitive procurement processes, contract negotiations, and supplier management o Experience working with ERP systems to manage procurement and supply chain activities Skills o Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, contract management, and sourcing strategies o Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms o Expertise in supplier management, category management, and supply chain operations o Strong negotiation and contract management skills with a track record of achieving favorable outcomes o Analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop effective solutions o Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a complex environment o Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills o Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment o High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism Other o Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to meet organizational driving and insurability requirements
Pay:
$83,794.84 - $100,914.21 per year
