Job Description

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking metrics, negotiating deals, and managing vendors. They collaborate with stakeholders, forecast market trends, and ensure clear requirements documentation. Their role involves analyzing costs, mitigating risks, and determining optimal delivery quantities and timings. Strong leadership, negotiation, cross-border payment, and analytical skills are required. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking Assess, manage and mitigate risks Establish and maintain strong business relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers Determine quantity and timing of deliveries Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand Education/Requirements Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration from a 4-year college or university OR a Professional Certification by ISME and/or APICs with at least 5 years of proven working experience as a Purchasing Manager within the Automotive Industry. Strong leadership, negotiation, cross-border payments (tariffs), and analytical skills are required.
