Purchasing Manager

Your Job Georgia-Pacific's Strategic Sourcing & Procurement ("SS&P") organization has an immediate opening in consumer products division for a Purchasing Manager supporting our Muskogee, OK facility, reporting to Regional Purchasing Manager. This person manages the local purchasing function, supervises personnel in this area, and will lead change, manage priorities, and develop the SS&P organization to deliver both short and long-term value within high volume, time-critical environment. The ideal candidate has proven working leadership experience, has a record of creating value through building strong working relationships with a diverse group of customers, has demonstrated a principled entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to build a capability that delivers a supply chain with an optimized total cost of ownership to operations. This is an onsite role at the Georgia-Pacific facility in Muskogee, OK. Our Team Georgia-Pacific's Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) organization is responsible for the strategic category management, sourcing and procurement of the critical supplies and materials that support our facilities. The SS&P organization partners with our business partners and leverages best practices to uniquely position the team to improve decision making capabilities and capture significant savings and efficiency opportunities. What You Will Do

• Multi-task as supervisor that provides on-going coaching and feedback but also task performer to assist as needed with team. Uses approach to stop, think and ask questions.
• Manage purchasing operations across the facility with high spend.
• Build partnerships within the facility and across capabilities to create value for GP.
• Lead a team of purchasing professionals to excellence in safety, health and environmental compliance, total cost of ownership of goods and services, competitively advantaged agreements and process efficiency.
• Lead the overall direction and management of strategic procurement for all local material spend, while partnering with customers, to ensure the creation of maximum value in quality, cost, reliability, & delivery in areas of endeavor.
• Manage and support procurement process, including negotiations and contract creation
• Partner with mill operations teams in efforts to ensure procurement processes are reliable and support defined asset strategies.
• Develop strong category partnerships, aligning with and managing strategic initiatives, commitments and supply chain strategies.
• Interface with the mill leadership teams pertaining to busin.
