ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Responsible for all purchasing functions for the company.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for raw materials, finished materials, office supplies, and building maintenance supplies.
  • Monitors open PO's to ensure accurate information is maintained in the ERP system regarding ship dates and prices.
  • Process purchase orders, confirm order acknowledgements, verify prices and payment terms, verify receipts of goods and raw materials, and process all paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Assist the Accounting Department in verifying receiving, pricing and order discrepancies, and inventory cycle counts.
  • Work with vendors to expedite materials when necessary.
  • Locate alternative sourcing solutions or components; verify vendors for safety and compliance.
  • Participate in annual inventory count.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues with suppliers; process shipping/freight claims; confirm credits and refunds from vendors are received in a timely manner.
  • Determine material requirements and stock levels, resolve invoice variances, immediate advise managers and schedulers of supplier delays, and track material delivery dates.
  • Source, shop, and partner with new and existing vendors to ensure the lowest possible price and timely delivery of materials.
  • Create new part numbers, vendor records, and bills of materials.
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks to production and order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with production planning team to ensure adequate stock levels for manufacturing requirements.
  • Negotiate and manage contract terms with service providers.
  • Establish blanket purchase orders and schedule releases against verified forecasts.
  • Update pricing, forms, and quoting systems in a timely manner.
  • Assist engineering teammates with sourcing requirements.
  • Deliver exceptional internal and external communications while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Respond to all inquiries in a timely fashion via telephone and email.
  • Efficiently manage and maintain records, files, and materials to ensure accurate information is disseminated.
  • Collaborate with various team members to ensure company needs are addressed.
  • Follow up on open tasks without prompting from supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Technical Drafting, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum three to five (3-5) years purchasing experience preferably in manufacturing or procuring industrial supplies.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP and accounting software (i.e. Peachtree, TIW/Alere, QuickBooks, Epicor) a plus.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, work effectively and multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong follow-up skills required.
  • Excellent communication skills and detail oriented.
  • Previous management experience with direct ownership over sourcing activities.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining/milling, plumbing, or electrical devices.
