Strategic Sourcing Job Summary:
The Director of Strategic Sourcing is responsible for developing and executing the enterprise strategic sourcing vision and category management strategy for approximately $1.9B in annual spend across a network of suppliers. This role leads enterprise sourcing initiatives designed to optimize total cost, quality, supply continuity, innovation, and service performance while enabling aggressive company growth objectives. This position is accountable for delivering sustainable cost savings, reducing enterprise supply risk, improving sourcing processes and governance, and developing strategic supplier partnerships that create competitive advantage for the organization.
Principal Duties:
Develop and execute the enterprise strategic sourcing vision, category strategies, and supplier management framework to maximize business value across approximately ~$2B in annual spend. Lead a Strategic Sourcing organization responsible for managing a complex supplier network of 300+ domestic and international suppliers supporting store operations, foodservice, manufacturing, logistics, construction, technology, packaging, equipment, and indirect spend categories. Establish sourcing strategies that balance cost optimization, quality, service, innovation, risk mitigation, and supply continuity while supporting rapid enterprise growth and operational scalability. Lead enterprise supplier diversification and supply resiliency initiatives designed to reduce single-source dependency, improve continuity of supply, and strengthen business contingency capabilities. Provide executive leadership and procurement expertise for all sourcing initiatives including strategic negotiations, RFPs/RFQs, contract development, supplier performance management, category reviews, and enterprise cost reduction initiatives. Drive measurable financial performance through annual productivity, first-cost reduction, and value engineering initiatives aligned with corporate profitability and reinvestment objectives. Partner cross-functionally with senior leaders across Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations, Technology, Finance, QA, Legal, Construction, Product Development, and Manufacturing to support enterprise priorities and strategic transformation initiatives. Develop and implement comprehensive supplier performance management programs including scorecards, service level expectations, operational KPIs, corrective action processes, and executive business reviews. Lead contract governance processes to improve commercial terms, mitigate legal and operational risk, strengthen supplier accountability, and optimize enterprise purchasing leverage. Direct enterprise category management and spend analytics processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, standardization, supplier consolidation, and operational efficiency. Utilize data analytics and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making Monitor market conditions, commodity trends, tariffs, geopolitical risks, and supply market dynamics to proactively identify financial and operational impacts to the business and develop mitigation strategies. Champion sourcing process improvements, procurement governance standards, and technology-enabled sourcing capabilities to improve efficiency, transparency, and decision-making across the organization. Develop strategic supplier partnerships that support innovation, speed to market, service improvements, sustainability objectives, and long-term business growth. Benchmark industry-leading procurement and sourcing organizations to identify emerging best practices, technologies, and operating models that enhance organizational capability and competitive positioning. Provide overall direction and support for team and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence. Provide feedback, coaching, support, and opportunities for development, complete performance appraisals, take corrective action when appropriate, and participate in hiring decisions.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, MBA with a concentration in Business a plus Prior experience managing a large team Experience supporting high-growth, multi-site retail, manufacturing, or distribution operations preferred Demonstrated ability to analyze financial reports and understand causal impact of sourcing/ procurement efforts Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite applications Experience managing large-scale strategic sourcing organizations with enterprise-wide spend accountability exceeding $1B Demonstrated success delivering measurable cost savings and supplier performance improvements Experience leading supplier diversification and supply resiliency initiatives Knowledge of procurement technology platforms, spend analytics, and ERP systems preferred Wawa will provide reasonable accommodation to complete an application upon request, consistent with applicable law.
