Job Title:
Procurement Category Manager Job Description The Procurement Category Manager will play a key role in managing the mechanical category within data-center equipment. This involves developing suppliers, defining strategy, setting pricing, and allocating equipment needed for data-center builds. The role also entails aligning with suppliers on new data-center designs, finalizing design requirements, and establishing pricing for upcoming builds. This position is 100% remote with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Responsibilities Manage the procurement of machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for the operation of the establishment. Develop suppliers, define strategies, and set pricing for data-center equipment. Contribute to the alignment with suppliers on new data-center designs and finalize design requirements. Establish pricing and allocate equipment needed for data-center builds. Lead cross-functional engagement across multiple stakeholder groups, including engineering, legal, finance, and planning. Influence stakeholders and drive alignment, especially when priorities conflict. Operate effectively under pressure with aggressive timelines and frequent changes. Proactively lead meetings to align decisions, actions, and owners. Manage and execute contracts, including navigating issues post-signature. Essential Skills Verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail, negotiation skills, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals, and other technical data. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing. Knowledge of supply chain management. Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong cross-functional leadership experience and comfort influencing top stakeholders. Proven ability to lead working sessions and decision-making forums. Experience managing sourcing and execution in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Practical contract management experience, including issue resolution and collaboration with stakeholders. Work Environment This is a remote position with a Monday to Friday schedule, requiring 40 hours per week. The role requires collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups and offers a dynamic environment with frequent changes and aggressive timelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
