Project Manager (Procurement Transformation Support)

Reports To:
Senior Project Manager Overview:
The Project Manager will play a vital role in executing strategic procurement initiatives as part of WMATA's ongoing Procurement Transformation Plan. The individual will lead and coordinate a variety of key projects aimed at improving training, compliance, sourcing, and operational efficiency across the department.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate procurement-related projects and special initiatives:
  • Customized training for 9 procurement categories
  • Rollout of the new COTR program
  • Implementation of category-specific terms & conditions and intake questionnaires
  • Launch of the Process Improvement Committee and sourcing governance plan
  • Assess training needs and execute a comprehensive training program
  • Develop and manage milestones for transformation objectives
  • Prepare presentation packages for executive leadership and the Board
  • Establish and maintain D&F and SOW libraries
  • Create and manage a DBE vendor library to support small business initiatives
  • Track DBE goals and report progress
  • Audit procurement planning tools for accuracy
  • Improve record-keeping and reorganize contract file management

  • Updated procurement planning tools
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in procurement or the public sector
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • PMP or CAPM certification preferred
  • Experience with training coordination and process improvement
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
