Description Purchasing Manager - NSK CorporationThe CompanyNSK is a global manufacturer of ball and roller bearings, linear motion technology, automotive components and steering systems with both domestic and overseas manufacturing. NSK also offers a full range of services including reconditioning, ball screw repair, product integration, application engineering and predictive & preventative maintenance and reliability services. NSK's products and solutions are everywhere where things are in motion - even under the toughest conditions. NSK's high-precision rolling bearings are used in wind turbines and machine tools, linear components are found in production lines, while our automotive components are installed in the vehicles of almost every well-known automaker.

The Purchasing Manager RoleManages NSK Purchasing Team Members in order to achieve financial, quality, safety, and warranty objectives. Leads and manages subordinate departmental managers including but not limited to Commodity Buyers, Plant(s) MRO Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Facilities. Management experience is required.

ResponsibilitiesSupport SAP launch activities for ProcurementInterface with SAP cross functional teamDevelop SAP implementation plan and readiness trackingPrepare SAP monthly reports, including monthly development plan vs actual and readiness trackingPrepare transition from Oracle to SAP systems - S4 Hana & AribaManage SAP training for Procurement direct and indirect buyersManage SAP training for SuppliersLead all SAP issue resolutions internally and externally as they pertain to SAPIdentifies and develops key talent and appropriately manage team members to ensure success of all individuals in the department.

Manages the tactical operations of the materials management, purchasing functions, and others as assigned.

Collaborates with inventory management team to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory planning.

Liaises with counterparts in other functional areas such as Sales, Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, and the Warehouse to ensure alignment of activities and objectives.

Identifies vendor opportunities and challenges, and partners with the product management team to ensure appropriate resolution.

Leads contract discussions, negotiations, and implementation with cross functional team.

Leads/supports innovation and Carbon Neutrality/Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

This position will require 10-20% travel. Travel can include visits to our facilities and to suppliers.

QualificationsThis job requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.8-10 years of position-related experience.

SAP experience required.

This is a hybrid position reporting to the Ann Arbor headquarters.
