Job Description

Interim Procurement-Purchasing Manager Our client, a mission-driven organization with multiple operating locations, is seeking an interim Procurement/Purchasing Manager to lead and coordinate all procurement activities across the organization. This position follows a primarily onsite or hybrid work schedule in their offices in Novato, CA. This engagement is expected to last 3 months.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all aspects of procurement for materials, supplies, and services across multiple locations Lead procurement initiatives focused on cost reduction, supplier optimization, and value analysis Develop, implement, and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, and authorization workflows Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies Act as a procurement resource for internal stakeholders to support pricing, quality, and delivery objectives Develop and maintain purchasing specifications based on functional and operational requirements Facilitate purchase requirements and the generation of appropriate purchasing documentation Collaborate with group purchasing organizations or strategic sourcing partners as applicable Prepare procurement reports and perform detailed analysis of purchasing activity and spend Maintain vendor evaluation programs and report on delivery performance, quality, and responsiveness Develop, monitor, and manage the procurement budget, ensuring expenses remain within approved limits Identify, document, and implement continuous improvement opportunities across procurement operations Educate and support staff on purchasing protocols and best practices Ensure adherence to purchasing policies and proper approval of procurement activities
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 4+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and purchasing controls Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment Strong written and verbal communication skills

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to: The individual's skill sets, experience, and training; Licensure and certifications; Office location and other geographic considerations; Other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco by Highspring notes that the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
