This position is responsible for leading the company's purchasing and strategic sourcing functions to support operational efficiency and company growth. This role drives supplier strategy, cost optimization, and procurement processes to ensure a reliable supply base, competitive pricing, and scalable operations. This will initially focus on day-to-day purchasing activities (including issuing purchase orders and supplier communication) while building and implementing long-term procurement strategies, systems, and processes. Over time, the role will transition toward strategic sourcing, supplier development, and team leadership.

Lead purchasing and sourcing strategy aligned with business goals Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key commodities and supplier categories Build and manage supplier relationships to improve cost, quality, delivery, and continuity Lead supplier negotiations, including pricing, terms, and long-term agreements Drive cost reduction initiatives, supplier consolidation, and value improvement projects Establish and monitor supplier performance metrics and scorecards Collaborate with engineering, production, and inventory teams Support demand planning and inventory strategies aligned with production needs Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchasing documentation and terms Monitor market conditions, material availability, and supply chain risks Lead RFQs, supplier evaluations, and cost analysis efforts Execute purchase orders and manage supplier communications as needed Track and follow up on lead times, backorders, and delivery commitments Partner with internal teams to resolve urgent or critical material needs Communicate order status, risks, and supply constraints to stakeholders Develop and improve purchasing processes, systems, and standard work Required Skills & Qualifications Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams Proven negotiation and supplier management experience Strategic mindset with the ability to balance tactical execution and long-term planning Solid understanding of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier performance management Experience working with ERP systems and purchasing tools Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred) 7-10 years of purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments Demonstrated experience with supplier negotiations, sourcing initiatives, and cost reduction programs Experience with ERP systems and material planning processes CPSM, APICS/ASCM, or similar professional certifications preferred Prior leadership or team development experience preferred #SF1Similar jobs in Brandon, SD
