$170,000 - $190,000 + Bonus + Benefits About the Opportunity We are partnering with a leading manufacturing organization in Tennessee to identify a Director of Chemical Procurement to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management across a complex, global chemical spend portfolio. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving cost optimization, supply continuity, and long-term supplier partnerships in a highly regulated and technical environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in chemical sourcing , a strong track record of leadership, and the ability to operate cross-functionally with operations, R D, quality, and executive leadership. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute global procurement strategies for raw materials, specialty chemicals, and intermediates Lead supplier negotiations, contracting, and relationship management to drive cost savings and value creation Oversee risk management strategies, including dual sourcing, inventory optimization, and supply continuity planning Partner with internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, R D, Quality, Finance) to align procurement with production and innovation goals Manage and mentor a high-performing procurement team Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes, systems, and analytics Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., EPA, OSHA, REACH where applicable) Monitor market trends, pricing indices, and geopolitical factors impacting chemical supply chains Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS in Supply Chain, Chemistry, or related field) preferred 10+ years of procurement/sourcing experience, with significant exposure to chemicals or raw materials Proven leadership experience managing teams and influencing executive stakeholders Strong negotiation and contract management expertise (e.g., long-term agreements, index-based pricing) Experience in manufacturing environments such as chemicals, specialty materials, industrials, or related sectors Demonstrated success driving cost savings and supplier performance improvements Strong analytical, financial, and strategic thinking capabilities
