Category Manager The Corporate Category Manager is responsible for identifying and implementing category, strategic sourcing, and contract management strategies that ensure the organization obtains the best total cost of ownership value when securing goods and/or services. Always seeking opportunities that drive continuous supply chain improvements, this role will be engaged in identifying the right suppliers to partner with that support our organizations development of a best in class supply chain. Reporting to the Head of Category Management, this role will work autonomously to identify and execute sourcing strategies that will support the organizational vision and strategic direction. Responsibilities Effective implementation of a category management strategy that delivers recognizable cost savings and process optimization through improved supplier management programs Develop and implement formalized supplier relationship management and performance programs with top strategic suppliers Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, project managers, engineers, and senior staff members Prepare and execute tender documents and evaluation tools for sourcing events under a category strategy Drives global supply chain standardization and cost savings through vendor and manufacturer consolidation Negotiate or re-negotiate existing contracts, utilizing transparent tender processes, ensuring optimal commercial and legal terms are in place and AVL process followed Reviewing spending trends of direct and/or in-direct spend and pro-actively develop category strategies to leverage optimal pricing and terms Mentor colleagues with problem resolution and guidance to ensure team goals and target KPIs are met Monitor global market trends, identify opportunities and potential issues and act upon them Candidates must pass background and reference checks.
