In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire parts department, ensuring seamless inventory management, supplier coordination, and customer service excellence. Your leadership will drive efficiency, optimize supply chain processes, and foster strong relationships with vendors and internal teams. Duties Manage daily operations of the parts department, including inventory control, order processing, and shipping & receiving activities. Lead procurement efforts by sourcing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and negotiating favorable pricing with suppliers to maximize profitability. Oversee supply chain logistics, demand planning, and warehouse management to ensure timely availability of parts for automotive service and repair needs. Utilize ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and order management software to track inventory levels, process orders, and maintain accurate data entry records. Develop and implement strategies for inventory optimization, demand forecasting, and procurement management to reduce costs and improve service levels. Supervise warehouse staff, including forklift operation and equipment repair, ensuring adherence to safety standards such as OSHA regulations. Collaborate with automotive diagnostics teams to ensure the availability of mechanical parts necessary for repairs and maintenance. Maintain strong supplier relationships through effective negotiation, sourcing strategies, and regular performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with quality standards related to OEM parts, auto body repair supplies, HVAC components, and other specialized automotive equipment. Monitor KPIs related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and customer satisfaction to continuously improve department performance. Requirements Proven experience in supply chain management within the automotive or manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of inventory management systems such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), ERP systems like AS400 or similar platforms. Demonstrated ability in procurement management, sourcing OEM parts, pricing negotiations, and demand planning. Familiarity with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving procedures and warehouse experience. Mechanical knowledge related to automotive diagnostics, auto body repair supplies, HVAC components, and equipment repair is highly desirable. Valid forklift certification with experience operating forklifts safely within a warehouse environment. Excellent data entry skills combined with attention to detail for accurate record keeping. Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with vendors, technicians, and internal teams. Strong negotiation skills coupled with sourcing expertise to optimize procurement costs. Experience working in dealership environments or automotive service centers is a plus.
