Job Description

Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a Procurement Supervisor to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 830. All offers of employment by Milwaukee Valve Company, LLC. are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment test(s), and background check, all with acceptable results. Applicants are responsible scheduling and completing the required pre-employment requirement testing within 7 calendar days of offer acceptance.   • Established in 1901, Milwaukee Valve manufactures valves for a variety of industries including Industrial, Commercial, Fire Protection, Marine and the dry bulk hauling industries.
Our products have been installed on every U.S. Navy ship built for the last 50 years. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Supervises and supports the daily activities of designated purchasing staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Performs hands-on purchasing for critical, complex, or high-value materials, components, and services for commercial, industrial, and marine product lines. Executes domestic and international purchasing activities for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Develops and maintains knowledge of government and public-sector procurement requirements, including documentation, compliance, and supplier qualification standards. Utilizes SAP and related ERP systems for purchasing transactions, supplier management, reporting, and data analysis. Selects, evaluates, and negotiates with suppliers to achieve optimal cost, quality, delivery, and service performance. Establishes and maintains alternate sources of supply to reduce risk and ensure continuity. Builds and maintains strong supplier relationships to support long-term strategic sourcing objectives. Exercises sound judgment regarding order quantities, lead times, substitutions, and inventory considerations. Expedites materials and resolves delivery, quality, or pricing issues as necessary to support production and customer commitments. Participates in training and development across all product lines to ensure full operational coverage and supervisory readiness. Travels between in-state company locations as required to support purchasing operations, staff coordination, and business needs. Supports procurement leadership initiatives and special projects in preparation for future department management responsibilities. Performs other related duties as assigned.   • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. SAP experience preferred. Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Mathematical Skills
  • Be able to do buy vs make analysis using basic costing analysis. Understanding of Engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances. Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardization situations. Computer Skills
  • Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP. Physical Demands
