Job Description:
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations and drive cost-effective sourcing initiatives. This role is responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and efficient acquisition of goods and services to support business operations. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and skilled in supplier negotiations, with a strong ability to balance quality, cost, and delivery. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives Manage supplier relationships, including sourcing, selection, and performance evaluation Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and value improvement Oversee procurement processes from requisition through delivery Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to forecast demand Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Analyze market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities Resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership teams Maintain accurate purchasing records and reporting Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management / Logistics, Business Administration or Operations Management or comparable field from a four-year college or university and 7 to 10 years in management of materials and sourcing within a manufacturing environment; and or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5-7 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within manufacturing Proven negotiation and vendor management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Experience with ERP or purchasing systems Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Preferred Qualifications Experience managing a team or leading procurement initiatives Industry-specific purchasing experience (manufacturing, distribution, etc.) Certification such as CPSM, CPM, or equivalent What Success Looks Like Cost savings and improved vendor performance Efficient procurement processes with minimal disruptions Strong supplier partnerships Accurate forecasting and inventory management Why Apply Opportunity to make a direct impact on operational efficiency and cost control Collaborative and dynamic work environment Career growth potential in a key leadership function
