Job Description

Status Full Time Job Summary This position seeks a highly qualified candidate for the Program Manager, AMP role within the Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) Program. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the production and marketing of sheep and goat commodities through a series of pilot projects that provide voluntary incentives to U.S. growers and producers to adopt improved practices. This role includes targeted outreach and technical support for underserved growers and producers. The Program Manager will plan, coordinate, and execute assigned research and programmatic activities and ensure alignment across multiple projects. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day project leadership, coordinate data collection and reporting, manage project timelines and budgets, and resolve team challenges as they arise. The Program Manager will also support the FPAC program implementation and ensure project deliverables are completed within established deadlines and funding limitations. Essential Job Duties Work in close cooperation with the Project Director and project staff to provide management, administrative oversight, and leadership to ensure project outcomes are achieved. Ensure USDA-specific policies, procedures, and compliance requirements are followed, providing guidance on relevant rules and regulations. Manage and maintain strong partner relationships, including oversight of sub-awardees, to ensure compliance with USDA reporting requirements and program expectations. Support the preparation of project work plans, progress reports, budgets, and budget forecasts. Implement project planning strategies and analyze project outcomes to build on lessons learned and best practices. Contribute to monitoring and evaluation by reviewing, validating, and approving project documentation, assignment materials, and performance indicator tables. Support outreach and engagement activities by drafting content, delivering presentations, and participating in activities that highlight project impacts and stakeholder engagement. Travel to field sites to support project team members and partners with technical assistance, operational coordination, and project implementation. Contribute substantially to Tuskegee University's reporting requirements and deliverables submitted to USDA. Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training) Earned M.S. or Ph.D. in Agriculture, Animal Science, Biological Science, Agricultural Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field by the start date of employment. Demonstrated experience working with research, marketing, and large/complex datasets. Evidence of a publication and research record commensurate with experience. Demonstrated history of or strong potential to engage in scholarly activities. Demonstrated ability or strong potential to develop an (inter)nationally recognized research program. Research interest in climate change, climate-smart practices, research, and/or policy.
