ADULT EDUCATION SNAP E & T COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Coordinator Qualifications:
SNAP E&T
Coordinator must hold a bachelor's degree. The
SNAP E&T
Coordinator functions as the grant administrator for the SNAP E&T and is the primary liaison between the adult education center and its community partners. The Coordinator will support all recruitment, retention and certificate completion activities of SNAP participants. Minimum of one (1) year of experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position's essential duties. This position is a grant-funded position through the Adult Education Section of the Division of Workforce Service General Description The purpose of this position is to provide professional employment counseling services, needs assessments, vocational evaluations and employment preparation and training for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) program participants. Work is done with general supervision and is accomplished by contacting SNAP participants referred by the Department of Human Services and performing assessments and interviews for inclusion into the
SNAP E&T
program; explaining client responsibility, rights and program availability; administering assessment tools to determine interest and suitability for the pilot program; referring participants to Adult Basic Education instructors or other staff for testing; enrolling participants in the State reporting system.
Supervisory and Other Relationships:
The position reports to the Adult Education Director and will be responsible for program related outcomes and reporting. The incumbent has substantial relationships with

participants, community partners; Department of Social Services staff; state agencies and community colleges. The incumbent is expected to represent the Adult Education program in a positive manner and to collaborate with community partners' staff and with the local education agency to effectively support
SNAP E&T
participants engaged in activities in the program. This position also include other adult education related duties as assigned by the Director.
Major Accountabilities:
The
SNAP E&T
Coordinator is accountable for contributing to the successful operation of the
SNAP E&T
Program through effective performance in the following essential functional areas:
SNAP E&T
Collaborative program promotion, development and administration.
SNAP E&T
Community Partners.
- Coordination of academic assistance and student support services.
- Outcomes measurement, tracking and report.
- Fostering relationships with community partners and faith-based organizations to enhance the program goals.
A. SNAP E&T
program development and administration: The
SNAP E&T
Coordinator is accountable for contributing to the successful operation of adult education's
SNAP E&T
program by providing effective administrative services such as: 1. Planning and hosting events and activities to promote and recruit participants. 2. Conducting orientation meetings for SNAP participants and partner agency counselors. 3. Developing and distributing
SNAP E&T
promotional material to partners to assist in outreach and recruitment. 4. Maintaining electronic student files to generate monthly, quarterly and yearly reports. 5. Interpreting and responding to federal grant guidelines. B.
Professional Participation and Development:
In addition to the accountabilities listed above, the
SNAP E&T
Coordinator is required to carry out the essential duties of:
- Serve on assigned committees and task forces.
- Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings related to the
SNAP E&T
Program and adult education.
- The incumbent is expected to maintain competency in the position's required fields of professional expertise and competencies.
The incumbent is required to maintain complete confidentiality of client/student records and other information of a confidential nature. The
SNAP E&T
Coordinator must earn a Career Service Provider certificate within one year of hire in order to maintain the position.
