Open to current permanent employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Office of Operations, Security, & Preparedness, Personnel Security Adjudication Center (PSAC).
Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/15/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement :
Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note:

In order to qualify for the GS-7 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Specialized Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-05) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Applying policy direction to specific operating requirements and developing guidance for applying personnel security and suitability policy, procedures, techniques, and methods; Interpreting policy and providing authoritative interpretations and guidance to management officials and other personnel security officers at the same and lower levels. OR, Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR a LL.B. or J.D., if related. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Note:

Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education as shown above. Otherwise, ONLY Graduate education in excess of the first full year may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9. Physical Requirements :
The work is sedentary and is usually accomplished while the incumbent is comfortably seated at a desk or table. However, some walking and standing may occur during anormal workday in connection with travel to, and attendance at, meetings and conferences away from the primary work site. Incumbent may be required to bend, lift, carry personnel security equipment such as laptops, scanners, etc. long distances at affiliate organizations. Must be able to lift 20-30 lbs. No special physical effort other than lifting/carrying of equipment is required to perform the work. Local Commuting Area:
The local commuting area for this position is defined as a radius of 50 miles from North Little Rock, AR 72114. This includes all locations that fall within a 50-mile driving distance from 2200 Fort Roots Drive, North Little Rock, AR 72114.
