Job Description

Lead With Purpose. Make a Real Impact. Copa Health is seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead Direct Support Professional (Lead DSP) to support individuals with disabilities while guiding and mentoring staff. In this role, you'll combine direct care with team leadership , helping ensure high-quality, person-centered services in a group home setting while supporting staff development and program success. What You'll Do As a Lead DSP, you will play a key role in both care delivery and team support : Direct Care & Support Assist members with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, mobility, etc.) Support community involvement, social skills, and independence Transport members and assist with appointments Maintain a clean, safe, and structured environment Leadership & Coordination Mentor, train, and support DSP staff Act as a liaison for families and team communication Help resolve challenges and support program operations Lead in the absence of the Program Coordinator Documentation & Compliance Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation (service plans, logs, reports, etc.) Support compliance with DDD/DHS requirements and agency policies Participate in meetings, audits, and program evaluations Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required At least 1 year of experience in direct care, behavioral health, or disabilities field Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills Ability to problem-solve and remain calm in crisis situations Experience with documentation and care coordination preferred Valid AZ driver's license & acceptable driving record (if required) Ability to pass background checks, drug screen, and obtain Fingerprint Clearance Card Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Physical Requirements Ability to lift/assist (50+ lbs., team lift) Frequent standing, bending, and movement Ability to assist with transfers and mobility support What You'll Get… At our organization, we prioritize the growth, well-being, and satisfaction of our team members.
