program is accepting applications starting on Monday, April 6, 2026, and closing Sunday, April 19, 2026, or until all placements are filled. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The Avi
TEMP 2026
program is set to run from June 1, 2026, to July 16, 2026. Participants will be contacted between April 20 and May 1, 2026. Avondale's summer teen employment program, called "AviTEMP," which stands for Teen Employment Mentorship Program, announces recruitment for summer 2026. This popular program has provided employment opportunities to over 300 young adults since it began in 2007. The program offers young adults (ages 16-24) quality temporary summertime employment opportunities with 7 weeks of paid, part-time work within local city government. To better understand potential placements, please click on the link below to review all departments within the City of Avondale. It is not guaranteed that all departments will be participating. Descriptions of Departments Participating in the AviTemp 2026 Program The eligibility requirements to participate in AviTEMP include the following:
  • Be between the ages of 16 and 24 years old during the program dates of June 1, 2026 to July 16, 2026
  • Be a current City of Avondale resident
  • Proof of residency and age is required at the time of application
  • Participants 18 years and older will be required to complete a background check AviTEMP is a temporary program funded through federal funding sources, which requires specific documentation to qualify for the program.
For this program, the City of Avondale will serve all persons on a first-qualified, first-served basis; regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age or disability.
