Foster Coordinator Flagstaff, AZ 86004 $18.35 - $20.00 an hour - Full-time $18.35 - $20.00 an hour -
Full-time Objective:
The Foster Coordinator is responsible for supporting the organization's foster program by recruiting, communicating with, and assisting foster volunteers while ensuring animals in foster care receive appropriate support, resources, and follow-up. This role serves as a key liaison between the shelter and foster families and plays an essential role in increasing positive outcomes for animals through foster placement. Foster Program Coordination Send daily communications and updates to foster volunteers. Monitor foster placement statuses and coordinate daily foster placement needs and urgent call-outs. Maintain regular communication with foster caregivers to provide support, answer questions, and monitor animal progress. Document foster updates, notes, and communications accurately within the shelter database system. Coordinate foster placement logistics, returns, extensions, and medical or behavioral follow-up as needed. Outreach & Volunteer Engagement Post foster program needs and available foster opportunities on social media and other outreach platforms on a regular basis. Assist with maintaining positive relationships with current and prospective foster volunteers. Support foster volunteer recruitment and retention initiatives. Supplies & Program Resources Prepare and maintain foster supply kits. Manage foster inventory and coordinate supply ordering as needed. Assist with maintaining foster-related program materials, including online applications and website content. Administrative & Program Support Conduct monthly ShelterLuv audits and ensure foster records remain accurate and up to date. Participate in monthly team meetings and trainings. Monitor attendance and manage participant tracking for training classes Qualifications & Skills Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced animal welfare environment. Comfortable working independently while also collaborating effectively with a team. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Experience working with volunteers, customer service, or animal welfare for at least 2 years required. Familiarity with ShelterLuv or similar shelter software is a plus. Working Conditions Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours as needed. Ability to remain professional, efficient, and positive in high-stress situations. Must be dependable, reliable, and demonstrate strong attendance and punctuality. References will be checked. Position may involve regular exposure to animals, cleaning products, noise, and emotionally challenging situations common in animal welfare work.

Work Schedule:
Wednesday- Saturday 9-6pm
