Job Description

Position Summary The Youth & Family Coordinator leads the coordination and implementation of K-12 literacy and tutoring programs, including Raising Readers. This role focuses on program delivery, volunteer coordination, and family engagement, ensuring students receive consistent, high-quality support. The Executive Director maintains strategic involvement in program direction and development; this role is responsible for day-to-day implementation and operations. Key Responsibilities Program Coordination & Implementation Coordinate K-12 tutoring programs and Raising Readers initiatives Implement existing curriculum and ensure consistency across sessions Schedule tutoring sessions and manage program logistics Support the development and expansion of youth programs based on community need Learner & Family Engagement Coordinate student intake and placement into appropriate programs Serve as primary point of contact for families Build relationships with parents/guardians to support student success Volunteer Coordination & Training Recruit, train, and support volunteer tutors Match volunteers with students and program needs Provide program-specific training and ongoing guidance Data & Reporting Track student participation, attendance, and progress Support data collection and reporting for program evaluation Partnership Development Build and maintain partnerships with local schools, including Flagstaff Unified School District, and other community organizations Support coordination of school-based or partner-site programming Office & Program Coverage Provide afternoon/evening on-site presence to support youth programming and participant access Respond to youth and family inquiries during assigned hours Events & Organizational Support Support organizational events, including fundraisers, community events, and youth program-related activities Program Ownership & Communication Responsible for volunteer and learner assignments within youth programs Keep the Executive Director informed of program updates, challenges, and any changes impacting program direction, partnerships, or participation Qualifications Experience working with youth, families, or in educational settings Strong organizational and communication skills Experience coordinating or supervising volunteers Ability to build relationships with families and community partners Familiarity with curriculum implementation and student support strategies Experience with data tracking and reporting systems (preferred) Bilingual (preferred) Pay Range $20-$25/hour, depending on education and experience Work Schedule Approximately 18-20 hours per week, including regular evening hours to support youth programming. Specific schedules will be set based on program needs, meetings, and center operations. Additional hours may be required for organizational events, including occasional evenings and weekends. Benefits PTO includes one week of sick/vacation time, one week of paid winter break, and 11 paid holidays.
