Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Program Director is responsible for implementing the Arizona Health Start (AHS) Program as outlined in the MIECHV Program/Fiscal policies and procedures as well as AHS contract scope of work and model expectations. Directly supervises Community Health Workers (CHW) and coordinates Subcontracted Consultant services. Conducts higher-level tasks; to include invoicing, analysis, quality assurance, program advocacy, training, and maintaining program fidelity. Director coverage.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Coordinates, supervises, and participates in all activities of the Arizona Health Start program. Contract, program implementation and budget monitoring. Works with Data Analysis system and specialists to monitor MIECHV benchmarks, following up as needed to impact outcomes for families. Submits all Funder, model and agency-required reports in a timely manner. Attends and participate in all funder-required meetings, trainings and conferences. Participates in agency and funder CQI projects as assigned. Monitors and adheres to program budget. Identifies, recruits, and hires qualified staff. Conducts new hire orientation, assigns and monitors core/ other professional development trainings for CHWs. Maintains and monitors staff caseloads, work assignments, ETO data reporting, training, certifications, and clearance status. Provides strength-based, reflective supervision with each staff as outlined in policy. Evaluates staff performance on a regular basis, giving verbal/written feedback at least quarterly and conducting formal evaluations annually. Oversees nursing and mental health consult requirements per P&P. Provides support to staff and participates in daily activities essential to the completion of program objectives. Attends bi-monthly scheduled supervision with Sr. Director. Conducts partnership outreach and maintains professional/community relationships ongoing. Seeks out and engages in community events and outreach to support health outcomes for families and children. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of community resources and services found in the service area. Coordinates program activities with other service providers. Participates in the planning and facilitation of the regional home visitation coalition. Regularly attends and actively participates in collaborative team meetings and supports all collaborative efforts. Participates in higher learning trainings a minimum of 12 hours per year and ensures direct staff do the same. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5 years home visitation, health care or education experience and 2 years program supervisor/manager experience. Bachelor's Degree or higher required. Ability to mentor, supervise and support staff in person or virtually. Knowledge of family life skills, and child abuse prevention techniques. Flexibility in scheduling (able to work nights and weekends). Availability to travel to work sites as needed to successfully implement and monitor program services. Ability to work effectively within a team. Knowledge of community resources and existing community prevention efforts. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills. Adheres to agency, funder and model policies & procedures. Meets department performance/productivity standards. Must be eligible and able to obtain a Level One fingerprint card. Must be certified in CPR/First Aid Must have a valid Arizona driver's license, Arizona vehicle registration and meet agency and Arizona liability insurance requirement.
ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Sitting for extended periods of time daily; standing and walking short distances. Moderate twisting, bending, stooping and lifting up to 40 pounds in the performance of assigned duties. Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machines as referenced. Normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination required. Repeated hand-wrist movement required. The nature of the position involves a fast-paced working environment with multitasking of many different duties and tasks. General daily priorities may change at a moment's notice, and the position requires quick response time and flexibility.
