This position supports individuals experiencing homelessness and other challenges by assisting with essential services, maintaining program operations, supervising volunteers, and monitoring campus activity to ensure campus safety and compliance with organizational policies. The Coordinator works closely with staff and volunteers and community partners to provide compassionate assistance while maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality, and operational efficiency and safety. Program Coordination & Client Support Organize, coordinate, and implement services within the Empowerment Program. Assist guests/clients with essential services including: Birth certificate application assistance Identification vouchers SNAP applications Employment center resources Coordinate operations of program services such as mailroom access, showers, clothing distribution, and other support services. Maintain accurate records of services provided through both electronic and paper recordkeeping systems. Prepare reports and documentation to support organizational reporting and grant applications. Campus Safety & Guest Navigation Serve as the primary point of contact for guests/clients, donors, volunteers, and visitors, greeting and directing individuals to appropriate services. Check in guests/clients for programs and services and monitor behavior while they are on campus. Circulate throughout the campus to ensure adherence to organizational policies and maintain a safe environment. Respond to and de-escalate conflicts using verbal de-escalation techniques. Respond to emergencies and contact appropriate personnel when necessary (medical, fire, safety concerns). Inventory, Donations & Resource Management Receive, inspect, record, and manage donations including clothing, blankets, backpacks, and other items. Maintain clothing inventory and oversee in-house clothing distribution. Organize and maintain program equipment and supplies in an efficient and orderly manner. Serve as a point of contact for donation drop-offs, accepting or declining items as appropriate and providing receipts when necessary. Volunteer & Program Support Supervise and assist volunteers participating in program activities. Support additional services as needed including: Evening meal service Front office phone support Food box distribution Attend staff meetings, trainings, and organizational events as required. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate daily logs and incident reports including irregularities, trespass records, property damage, theft, or unusual occurrences. Maintain program files and records according to organizational policies and record retention standards. Other Responsibilities Perform special projects and other duties as assigned based on the needs of the organization. Essential Skills and Qualifications Have a passion for the mission of Paz de Cristo and those we serve. Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and mental health challenges. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with guests/clients, volunteers, staff, and community partners respectfully and professionally. Knowledge of situational awareness, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques. Excellent organizational, planning, and record-keeping skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adjust to changing needs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer systems and databases. Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative. Physical and Work Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods while monitoring the campus. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies and crisis situations.
Pay:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour
