General Summary:
The Kinship Program Coordinator provides oversight and support to kinship foster homes. Program Coordinators support both kinship parents, kinship placements and other members within the home ensuring placement stability. The Program Coordinator serves as a liaison between referring agency, caregivers, and other community resources to support stable and nurturing placements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision of Kinship Home & Placements:
Conduct regular home visits and other contacts to assess the living environment, complete required contacts and ensure adherence to DCS regulations and organization goals. Home visits must be documented in the appropriate form related to the service provided. Services include Kinship Assessment, Kinship Navigation, Adoption Certification, Courtesy Supervision, Guardianship Annual Review, or Foster Home Licensure. Document all home visits and contracts in EHR. Offer training and resources to Kinship parents, enhancing their skills in providing care and support to children in kinship care. Make referrals for services as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all kinship homes comply with state and federal regulations regarding safety, health, and welfare standards. If applicable, work with the Supervisor/Director and FC Compliance Manager in assisting kinship parents with foster care licensure process; collecting and/or guiding foster parents through the process. Respond promptly to any safety concerns or incidents, taking necessary actions to protect children in care. Monitor and maintain licensed kinship homes in accordance with DCS/OLR regulations
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with DCS, therapists, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to care. Participates in supervision with Supervisor and other team members providing updates on kinship home. Participate in team meetings and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Performs other duties as assigned and in relation to the kinship care program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum Experience Required:
Minimum of 1 year experience working with child caregivers and or child welfare.
REGULATORY
Minimum 21years of age. Able to pass a minimum 5 panel drug test & submit to regular screening. DPS Level I fingerprint clearance (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment). Maintain a clear Central Registry Background Check. CPR, First Aid, (must possess upon hire and maintain throughout employment). Current, valid Arizona Driver's License and 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements. Questions about this position?
