Job Description

TITLE:
Prevention Coordinator HOURS:
30 hours per week, some evenings, weekends (as needed)
SUPERVISED BY
Senior Program Director, Community Impact Division
LOCATION
Copper Corridor (Pinal County)
SALARY:
Part-Time, $19/hour
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for the development of funded substance abuse prevention coalition in Pinal County (Copper Corridor Coalition). Motivate key community members from the 12 different sectors to make changes in their communities to reduce youth substance use including alcohol, opioids/marijuana, other drugs. Collaborate with School Districts, community organizations and other Prevention Staff to schedule trainings, presentations, and coalition meetings. Deliver evidence-based programming such as Too Good for Drugs, Mind Matters, and other substance use related programs. Attend community, coalition, agency, network, and other meetings as required. Coordinate school-based prevention activities with partner schools including Prom Promise, Teen Maze, substance use related escape rooms, Mock DUI, and summer conferences. Plan and participate in community events such as drug take backs, resource fairs, and National Night Out. Coordinate with staff to refer participants to other AZYP programs when applicable. Plan and facilitate community presentations utilizing programs from the SACLAZ Toolkit. Obtain and input data, prepare reports, compile statistics, complete grant requirements. Complete all fund source and AZYP reporting requirements. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of actions and outcomes for all funding streams. Implement and support unique mentoring program, utilizing NRPA's Youth Mentoring Framework, focused on supporting youth currently misusing or dependent on drugs, youth at risk for misusing. Represent AZYP at public events, as directed, to promote prevention efforts. Participate in training as required by Funder and AZYP. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED Initiating and independent worker. Creative, flexible, collaborator, team-player Experience working with high school aged youth Excellent presentation, oral, written communication skills; knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point a plus
REQUIREMENTS
Finger printing and Background Check; CPR/First Aid Certification. AZ Driver's License, reliable transportation, and ability to travel countywide and statewide. Automobile Insurance in the amount of $100,000/$300,000
