Division WIC Opening Date 06/11/2026 Closing Date 6/25/2026 11:59 PM Arizona Job Summary The WIC Supervisor is responsible for the direction and implementation of the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Woman, Infants, and Children (WIC) at the Pascua Yaqui Health Department (PYHD) as part of the Maternal Child Health Program. The incumbent reviews and maintains program records and reports, coordinates services with other medical programs, ensures compliance with medical standards, develops and monitors personnel schedules. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Supervise staff to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. Coordinate patient medical care and perform liaison activities between patients and medical facilities/staff, sets follow up appointments and makes referrals. Ensure that both the agency and program policies & procedures, nutrition care standards, meet the standards of WIC and the Pascua Yaqui Health Department. Plan and monitor the operation and utilization of WIC services, make appropriate adjustments and modification as necessary, and plan for the expansion of WIC services as necessary. Collaborate and coordinate with other PYHD Program Managers to plan services, identify, resolve problems, and make any necessary referrals. Develop and obtain training and in-service education for WIC staff. Develop and maintain updated policy and procedure manual for WIC services. Assist with the planning of new nutrition programs/services and attains funding for expansion. Review and maintain documents, records, and file to ensure compliance with program procedures and practices. In consultation with Nutritionist, review and evaluate WIC services to assure quality and compliance with nutrition standards, PYHD policies, and procedures, WIC rules, and regulations and implements changes as necessary. Assist with tracking budget and department information, such as maintaining balances, researching discrepancies, and prepare related financial reports. Attend meetings pertaining to community member health issues, program goals and objectives, provide information on activities, and progress reports. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of:
Customer service principles; Health care practices and procedures; Supervisory and budget management principles and practices; Diabetes and maternal/child health; HIPAA regulations; Cultural and social backgrounds of the Native American population; Yaqui culture, customs, resources and traditions and/or a willingness to learn.

Have ability to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive verbal and written work instructions. Education, Certifications and Experience Required Associate's Degree in Nutrition, two (2) years of experience in related field of public health nutrition or community nutrition; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Special Requirements:
Completion of an ITCA competency-based training program within 30 days of hire Bilingual in English and Spanish Experience working with American Indian women, infants and children. Experience in the WIC Program. Experience and knowledge using a case management or database system. Proficient in Word and Outlook; CPR and First Aid certifications; Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License; Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination.
