Program Manager and Program Director General Purpose Under direction of the program director and or designee, assist in the coordination of the daily operations of the Child Care/Pre-School Center, enforces regulations of the program guidelines, implements, and maintains an appropriate environment for the children and staff; and performs related work as required.Responsibilities:
Establishes classroom policies and procedures for children?s development and safety; ensures Center maintains proper license requirements and implements state regulations. Oversees appropriate staff levels, child teach ratios and monitors staff to ensure center goals are met and supports program goals. Implements program curriculum within the terms of the contractual commitment and guidelines. Adheres to and implements organizations policies and procedures. Implements State licensing regulations and funding source requirements. Monitors, guides, and instructs staff to ensure quality of teaching methods and support for program goals. Trains, models, evaluates, and provides guidance to all staff in all phases of the center program for the implementation of a proper program. Will work with the administration team to provide feedback on employee?s performance. Maintains appropriate staff level to accommodate children enrolled in the program in accordance with regulations. Provides information to parents concerning their children?s development, abilities, and areas of concern; explains program procedures and classroom activities as requested. Monitors family enrollment to ensure reporting procedures for the Childcare Center?s attendance and fiscal information is accurate. Reports incidents of suspected child abuse to proper authorities Plans and coordinates staff meetings to promote ongoing communication. Works in classrooms as a teacher on an as needed basis. When working in an infant and toddler facility, required to complete the infant needs and service plans. Reviews lesson plans to ensure appropriate curriculum is implemented. Works with Program Manager to plan and coordinate monthly meetings and trainings. Ensures that initial, interim, and final assessments of children are performed and documented. Oversees parent-teacher conferences in accordance with program regulations. Submits documentation/reports necessary for the end year reporting (ECERS, DRDP, Family Surveys), including any other documentation required by the State Department of Education. Monitors teaching staff permits, CPR and First Aide Certificates to ensure current and up to date. Prepares and submits to the program director request for supplies, materials, equipment and other needed items for the successful implementation of the curriculum and program. Submits requests in timely manner. Oversees implementation of daily food program at designated site to meet children?s nutritional needs; ensures that substitutions are provided for children with dietary restrictions; posts and trains staff on child food. allergies and how to accommodate children with allergies. Compiles monthly narratives to give an overview of all center activities. Reports are submitted to Program Director or designee in a timely manner. Submits daily attendance report to administration and documentation department in a timely manner. Always ensures the proper supervision of children. Participates and/or conducts parent enrollment meetings. Orients parents to the center program and its relationship to the school and community. Ensures the completion of all necessary documentation. Ensures staff follows proper health and safety guidelines, including procedures for sanitation, diapering, hand washing, and tooth brushing procedures. Follows and implements plan for emergency, health, fire, and other safety situations; ensures that monthly fire and earthquake drills are practiced and recorded. Ensures a conducive working environment at all times to include the proper guidance of staff. Ensures overall cleanliness/sanitation of center. Enforce MAOF policies and procedures in terms of being fair, firm, and flexible. Works with program manager in preparing for NAEYC accreditation. Carries out any activities, which may be necessary for the proper implementation of the MAOF Child Care and Preschool programsREQUIREMENTS
Site Supervisor Permit from the California Commission of Teacher Credentials. BA Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field Three (3) semester units in the care of infants/toddlers. Required for infant and toddler centers. Not required for CSPP centers. Two (2) years of management and/or supervisory experience. Six (6) semester units in supervision and/or management in CD/ECE. Two (2) semester units of adult supervision in CD/ECE. Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred. Pediatric First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certified. Preventative Health Practices Course ? 8 hours Must be 18 years of age to apply. Physical and mental fitness to engage in management service in children?s centers. Love for children and ability to work with people harmoniously. Evidence of emotional maturity, stability tactfulness, and the ability to provide professional leadership. Ability to deal with conceptual matter. Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills. Computer literate. Ability to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public; work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues; and complete projects under tight deadlines even when there are requirements and changes in assignments. Must be committed to the goals and objectives of the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation. Regular attendance.HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
Must meet State health requirements. Must submit to a pre-employment physical examination and Tuberculosis (TB) clearance at the time of employment, to be renewed every four years. Must submit to a flu vaccine once a year or provide waiver. Must provide vaccination records for influenza, pertussis and measles, at the time of employment. Must provide proof ofCOVID 19
vaccination or apply for exemption.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid California driver?s license, have use of a motor vehicle, and provide evidence of auto liability insurance as required by law. Good driving record.Criminal record clearance:
FBI, DOJ and CACI must be cleared prior to employment. Fingerprint clearance must be obtained for continued employment with MAOF. A clearance number revoked by DOJ/FBI or State Licensing Agency will result in immediate termination of employment.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
