In this role, you will lead strategic planning for Front Door activities, coordinating with Government Mission Partners, Space Systems Command (SSC) Program Acquisition Executive (PAE) teams, and commercial innovation stakeholders. Responsibilities Success in this role requires cross-organizational integration, strategic agility, and the ability to accelerate adoption of commercial capabilities into National Security Space (NSS) architectures.
The Commercial Space Consigliere will:
Help align mission needs with commercial capabilities and drive a cohesive strategy for industry engagement and transition of commercial solutions into operational use Lead strategic planning and execution of USSF Front Door processes to improve effectiveness in identifying and integrating commercial space opportunities Analyze existing workflows and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and mission impact Support automation initiatives, including the integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence into Front Door operations Engage with SSC Program Acquisition Executive (PAE) teams to capture mission, acquisition, and operational requirements Conduct market research to identify commercial solutions aligned with PAE capability needs Plan and execute industry engagements (e.g., Industry Days, Reverse Industry Days, national symposiums) to communicate USSF priorities to commercial partners Translate between commercial vendors (technical/sales language) and government stakeholders (mission, funding, acquisition frameworks) Influence and coordinate across multiple organizations without formal authority to drive outcomes and stakeholder alignment Develop strategies to align innovation and integration priorities with available resources, mission needs, and commercial capabilities Leverage data-driven approaches to inform decision-making and execution Serve as a liaison between USSF and other commercial-facing Government Mission Partners (e.g., NRO Commercial Space Office, SpaceWERX) to synchronize efforts and identify shared opportunities Skills Required The Commercial Space Consigliere must have: 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Space program acquisition, Systems engineering, or Space operations supporting National Security missions Strong understanding of USSF missions, the ability to evaluate requirements and emerging solutions, and proven program management skills Strong understanding of USSF/SSC/CSpOC/STARCOM organizations and ability to build relationships across them Demonstrated experience supporting USSF operations or acquisition across multiple capability areas Proven leadership experience defining processes and delivering solutions in complex environments Experience identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder efforts with limited resources and evolving objectives Experience supporting DoD programs or government contracts Knowledge of space mission areas and technologies such as Orbital Warfare (OW) / Electronic Warfare (EW), Positioning, Navigation & Timing (PNT), Missile Warning/Tracking (MW/MT), Satellite Communications (SATCOM), or Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to brief both technical and senior executive audiences
Required:
Bachelor's degree in business, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), Program Management, or related field; or bachelor's with proven experience in the job requirements Master's degree preferred US Citizenship required Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility
Salary Range:
$130,000 - $155,000 DOE Education Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, engineering, or the sciences.
