Job Description

Description SAIC's Horizon program is seeking you, our latest Acquisition Specialist to support the U.S. Space Forces mission of delivering warfighter capability via the Space Systems Command's Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power and Battle Management, Command, Control and Communications weapon system portfolios. We work out of our El Segundo, California office . The Horizon program is supporting Government weapon systems program offices with subject matter experts that have a background with the Department of Defense major capability acquisition process. Horizon team members provide systems acquisitions and program management support on various capability development programs that are intended to protect and defend the Nation's most valuable space assets. Our team is at the forefront of the advising and assisting the Government throughout the full lifecycle of systems acquisition processes that enable in most instances, rapid fielding to meet warfighter needs.
Typical responsibilities include:
Provide advice to Program/Project Managers regarding acquisition strategies, schedules, contracting, budgeting and execution. Prepare periodic status reports, coordinate and execute periodic staff meetings and technical interchange meetings, and develop acquisition plans, schedules, and executive program briefings. Develop, draft, and coordinate overarching program planning and execution documents as prescribed by/tailored from DoDI 5000.02 / Acquisition Framework, and relevant DoD, AF, and local unit policies that pertain to rapid prototyping. Provide technical and programmatic assessments of contractor design/milestone reviews to assess progress, risks and issues, and the ability to achieve mission requirements. Provide program element coordination, staffing and monitoring; advise and assist government customer regarding funding commitments, obligations, and expenditures as well as drafting and supporting delivery of program funding documentation and monthly financial reports.
Qualifications This is you:
Bachelor's degree in business management or equivalent business-related discipline and ten (10) years or more in government weapon systems acquisitions and program management and, or Contracts management within the Department of Defense. Or Masters and eight (8) years of applicable experience.
Experience with the following:
Department of Defense Major Capability Acquisition System process. Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System process. Planning, Programing, Budget and Execution process. Authored statements of work, CDRLs, award fee plans, technical evaluations, etc. Demonstrated knowledge and application of defense and intelligence acquisition, budget planning and contracting. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, programmatic, and problem-solving skills. Strong briefing and writing skills. Demonstrated ability to be effective in a fast-paced, dynamic, and energetic environment. Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable). Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.
Target salary range:
$120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
