03704 Description Upward Bound (UB) provides students with the necessary support services to pursue a higher education and aims at fostering the next generation of college graduates. Our goal is to increase the number of students progressing onto higher education who are successful in the baccalaureate and beyond. Upward Bound is a federally funded TRIO program designed primarily to assist low-income and potential first-generation college students with enrolling and preparing to succeed in college, at the following Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD) schools: Magnolia, and Savanna High School; and Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) schools: Santa Ana, Saddleback, Century, and Valley High School. The program provides tailored academic advisement, academic support, and college access programming for students to ensure that they are provided with the highest-quality opportunities to be successful in college. Under the supervision of the Program Director and Academic Advisors, the Summer Program RA's will work with high school students from the Santa Ana Unified School District and Anaheim Union High School District. RA's will collaborate with the Academic Advisors and program staff to design interactive activities. RA's will work to create an academically nurturing and rigorous environment that promotes critical and creative thinking, instills pride and respect for others and self, and provides participants with a space for leadership development. RA's will also be called to serve as academic tutors during classroom sessions and study hall. The primary role of the RA will be to expose and help participants acclimate to the college campus environment, all while committing to expand their academic knowledge.- Please be aware that funding for this position is awarded through a Grant/Contract over a specified period.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working as a RA or similar day program Experience developing student activities and leadership workshops. Experience working with first generation and low-income students. Prior participation and/or work experience with TRIO and/or Outreach Programs.EDUCATION
Applicant must be at least a current sophomore student in good academic standing with at least a 2.50 GPA. Candidates with a post-secondary degree are also welcome to apply.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
