The primary function of the Work Development Specialist serves to support Work Development Sub-Program participants in creating and working toward attainable volunteering, educational, or career goals. The MSS I - Work Development Specialist serves as a liaison between the Clinical Team and the clients, ensuring the client's adherence to and participation in the work development program is well integrated into a comprehensive and holistic treatment approach. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Facilitate work development-focused groups along with other milieu-related groups when necessary. When facilitating groups Case Managers are expected to enforce milieu rules and structure as well as support clients in adhering to the program expectations and responsibilities in treatment. Educate clients on the Work Development Sub-Program Provide individual and group counseling pertaining to work development, working closely with both the Clinical and Milieu Support staff departments regarding treatment planning and interventions. Transport groups to volunteer sites and support clients in completing and maintaining their volunteer shifts on time and appropriately Individual 1:1s should be focused to review the client's work development goals and requirements, discuss any truancy, transportation, and/or scheduling issues related to volunteering, work, or school attendance. Provide support and education to Milieu Support Staff and Residential Support Staff regarding proper job etiquette (professionalism, boundaries, networking, email etiquette, resume building, etc.) when tasked with supporting clients to school or volunteer sites. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED is required; Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other Health Related Field preferred. Experience in work development required. Ability to implement and enforce program guidelines, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of records keeping, documenting, and filing. Specific, required, current, and active licensure, registration, or certification must be maintained in good standing. Preferred candidates should have sound understanding of mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and milieu therapy. Proficient computer skills and ability use various software programs. Have a valid driver's license in good standing and auto insurance. Successfully complete drug screen and comprehensive background check. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as needed. Flexibility and adaptability in schedule are essential.
