This is a Full-Time, Exempt Position Children's Home Society of California (CHS), a multi-service, non-profit agency, has a position open in our Long Beach office. This is a Full-Time, Exempt Position Under the supervision of Children's Home Society of California's (CHS) Program Administrator III, the Program Manager will:
  • Carry out the activities of the Child Care Payment Program
  • Supervise Program Specialists in the delivery of case management services to eligible families, including intake, certification, recertification, and termination of services
  • Review files to ensure family eligibility and need
  • Manage, supervise, and evaluate supervised staff in conjunction with monitoring their job performance
  • Provide technical assistance/support to staff with the navigation of Care Control 3 and additional software
  • Collect statistics and prepare reports
  • Identify, analyze, and respond to trends and areas for improvement in order to strengthen and streamline program compliance, quality, and timeliness.
  • Coordinate and conduct ongoing internal reviews of case management compliance and quality, including the use of CareControl 3 supervisor reports, monthly case management reports, the analysis of Quality Assurance (QA)-prepared and distributed compliance reviews and reports, and other internal efforts to assess, monitor, and improve workflow, efficiency, and compliance including multi-level family file reviews • Ensure support and ongoing identification and response to the training needs of staff including on-boarding and training for new staff, as applicable • Ensure staff are provided ongoing professional development opportunities that strengthen their job-related competencies • Ensure staff collaborate with other departments as necessary to provide clients with high quality, accurate, and timely customer service and support • Review processes and practices on an ongoing basis to increase, support, and streamline productivity, quality, and accuracy • Respond to requests to furnish high quality documentation and materials to support internal compliance reviews • Maintain office in a manner that meet CHS's standards and expectations and work in conjunction with the Office Manager, as needed • As a member of the CHS Management Staff, support the agency mission, demonstrate leadership, and conduct oneself as a positive model for staff • Provide technical assistance and resources to families and child care providers • Maintain all records in a high-quality manner and within record protection, retention, and destruction guidelines • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, as well as applicable contractual and governmental regulations • Work some evening and weekend hours, as needed, to support programming for client services • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or Child Development field, or related field required
  • Five (5) years of relevant post degree work experience required
  • Prior non-profit experience preferred
  • Ability to prepare and present effective written work, provide strong attention to detail, and produce error free work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the agency staff
  • Proactive self-motivator with a professional, positive, and flexible attitude
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and be fully accessible during work hours, regardless of work location
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Commitment to CHS's core mission and values, and an ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel via air and surface transportation, including travel between multiple offices
SALARY SCALE
Entry level pay for this position is $1,404.00 per week; the full pay scale is $1,404.00 to $1,642.49 per week. Advancement on pay scale is based on qualifications, such as experience and education, and eventual job performance. Excellent benefits are provided including 100% employer paid medical, dental, and vision premium coverage for eligible employees and their eligible dependents and 10% pension plan contribution for eligible employees.
