Summer Camp Facilitator Bay Area Friendship Circle Palo Alto, CA Job Details Temporary | Part-time $20 - $25 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications Volunteer support Working with individuals with disabilities Collaboration Personal service experience with children Working with children Full Job Description Summer Camp Facilitator, Bay Area Friendship Circle Bay Area Friendship Circle is a nonprofit organization providing inclusive social, recreational, and creative programming for children, teens, and young adults with disabilities through a 1:1 buddy model with teen volunteers. We are currently hiring part-time facilitators for our Summer Camp program!
Position Details Dates:
July 27-31 and August 3-7
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-3:00
PM Location:
Palo Alto (AchieveKids and surrounding program spaces)
Pay:
Starting at $20/hour, higher based on experience Role Overview Facilitators support recreational, social, and creative arts programming while helping participants engage socially, emotionally, and behaviorally in a supportive and inclusive environment. This is an excellent opportunity for students or individuals interested in psychology, special education, OT, SLP, social work, creative arts therapies, recreation, or related fields seeking hands-on experience working with children and teens with disabilities. Responsibilities Support participant engagement in activities, transitions, and social interaction Facilitate recreational, creative arts, and play-based activities Support teen volunteers paired 1:1 with participants Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment Collaborate with staff, therapists, and families as needed Assist with setup, cleanup, and daily program operations Qualifications Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities preferred but not required Strong communication, flexibility, and interpersonal skills Comfortable in a dynamic, team-based environment Reliable and able to commit to the full program schedule
