Position Summary The Backup DDRP Specialist is engaged on-call to cover surge testing volume (Commander-Directed Testing CLINs), to provide redundancy for the Primary DDRP Specialist during leave or peak RSD weekends, and to support Southern California ANG sites when geographically advantageous. The Backup performs the same duties as the Primary but on a part-time, mobilized basis. Key Responsibilities Provide on-call coverage for Commander-Directed Testing exercises (CLINs 0004, 1003, 2003, 3003, 4003). Back up the Primary DDRP Specialist during leave, illness, or peak testing weekends. Conduct specimen collection, packaging, and shipment per DAFMAN 44-197 and
AFMAN 44-198.
Maintain chain of custody and complete DD Form 2624 for all samples. Provide DDRP testing coverage at Southern California ANG sites (Sepulveda
ANGS, JFTB
Los Alamitos, San Diego ANGS). Support annual PE&O event delivery and After-Action Reports. Train Observers, Trusted Agents, and backup collectors when surge volume requires. Maintain all required training certifications (AT Level I, Cyber Awareness, OPSEC, AFMRA Train-the-Trainer) on a continuous basis even during on-call status. Required Education High school diploma or equivalent
REQUIRED.
Associate's degree or higher
PREFERRED.
Required Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in drug testing, specimen collection, or related federal/military urinalysis support. Familiarity with chain of custody and forensic specimen handling. Willingness to maintain on-call availability and travel on short notice. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to CA ANG locations within 24-hour notice for Commander-Directed Testing. Preferred Qualifications / Certifications Prior military experience as DTPAM, Drug Testing NCO, or SAP Coordinator. AFMRA Train-the-Trainer or WDDRPM certification.
DOT/SAMHSA
Specimen Collector certification. Geographic residency in Southern California for site coverage efficiency. Active CAC and active T1 investigation or higher. ClearanceEligibility Requirements U.S. Citizenship required. Must qualify for and obtain/maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) per
PWS 1.4.5.
Requires a favorable Tier 1 (T1) investigation or higher, OPM background investigation, and FBI fingerprint check. Must NOT have any record of conviction by a civilian criminal court (PWS 1.4.7). Must NOT have any medical or mental health condition that precludes responsible performance of drug testing duties. Must complete AT Level I Antiterrorism Awareness training within 15 calendar days of CAC issuance; Cyber Awareness Challenge before network access (annually); OPSEC and Records Management training; Information Assurance / IT certification if performing IA/IT functions (DoD 8570.01-M baseline). Must complete AFMRA-certified Train-the-Trainer training for DDR processes within initial onboarding window. Must provide proof of WDDRPM (Wing Drug Demand Reduction Program Manager) training completion/certification within 5 business days of completion (PWS 1.4.7.1 / DE-12). Must abide by the U.S. Government's zero-tolerance policy on Combating Trafficking in Persons (PWS 1.4.11).
CompensationBenefits Starting Hourly rate:
$32.00. Plus SCA-mandated HealthWelfare benefit, prorated paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
