Job Description
The Coordinator of Global Community at California Baptist University (CBU) is responsible for managing and overseeing global engagement programs and partner development initiatives. This role supports delegations, campus events and programs, and related campus visits, all with the goal of maintaining and advancing CBU's mission and commitment to the Great Commission through the effective performance of assigned duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Coordinate the planning and execution of campuswide programs and events, including collaboration and communication with relevant university departments. 2. Serve as the primary point of contact for all communications related to programs, events, and activities, both with external partners and internal university departments. 3. Plan and develop specialty programs in coordination with academic program leads, the Registrar's Office, and other departments in accordance with partnership agreements. 4. Act as the primary contact for short-term summer camps during their time in the United States. 5. Communicate and collaborate with university departments regarding global visitors and guests, as needed. 6. Track and manage budgets and expenses for partnerships in a timely and effective manner, providing detailed analysis on key financial issues to support program goals. 7. Manage and coordinate program and activity logistics for partner programs, including budget oversight, event planning, and the coordination of orientation and departure meetings for research scholars. 8. Serve as the main point of contact between global delegations and various university departments. 9. Support and address needs related to specialty on-campus student programs, including program-specific cohorts. 10. Lead partnership development efforts and maintain consistent engagement with partners throughout the year. 11. Plan and implement marketing strategies to support the growth and visibility of global engagement programs and partnership activities. 12. Assist with additional global engagement initiatives and projects as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to effectively carry out all essential duties. Ability to effectively interact with a diverse range of international guests, including students, parents, agents, administrators, and business partners. Proven ability to organize, motivate, and supervise student workers involved in translation and support assignments. Flexibility and competence in managing travel-related responsibilities and communicating across multiple time zones. Thorough knowledge of the CBU campus and the ability to provide engaging and informative campus tours to international visitors. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and international guests. Ability to supervise, train, organize, prioritize, and schedule staff and student work assignments. Proficiency in using personal computers and standard software applications. Ability to make sound administrative and procedural decisions involving sensitive and confidential matters. Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple initiatives concurrently. Ability to exercise independent judgment and responsibly manage confidential information. Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to coordinate and manage meetings and special events. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines effectively.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
: The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee regularly stands, walks, and sits, and must possess sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other standard office equipment. The position requires visual acuity to read text and numbers, as well as the ability to speak and hear clearly for effective communication in person and by telephone. The employee may occasionally be required to lift or move items weighing up to 10 pounds. : The work environment characteristics described below represent those typically encountered while performing the essential functions of this role. The noise level is generally moderate. Work is primarily performed in a standard indoor office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Education and/or Experience A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred. Alternatively, a minimum of four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is acceptable.
