Job Description

PRGRAM DIRECTOR JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Vocational Services of ESE. This individual is responsible for providing day-to-day operation of the program that may include state and federal safety requirements, staff development, hiring and retention, and state and federal compliance regulations, and assist in coordinating, assigning, and supervising staff working in the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following; other duties may also be assigned: Quality of Services Oversee monthly activity calendar that offers a variety of meaningful age appropriate activities. Coordinate program calendar with Director of Vocational Services, staff and clients to ensure participation in activities identified in clients' ISP goals. Assure that activities are scheduled in advance allowing clients to choose their activities and staff to prepare for activities at least one week ahead of time. Promote opportunities for clients to develop skills and increase functional abilities in the areas of domestic living, recreation/leisure, self-advocacy, community integration, communication and vocational skills. Develop volunteer and/or employment opportunities in the community. Coordinate client transportation with outside agencies and respond to all program transportation needs while maintaining good communication with the agency transportation coordinator. Review and submit all mileage sheets to the transportation coordinator on a weekly basis. Ensure that program environment and community outing sites are safe and clean and meets the standards of quality in all programs per Easter Seals quality and compliance standards. Serve as a member of the rehabilitation team and assist with curriculum development to meet program goals and objectives to support extensive community integration of individual clients. Assure that ISP meetings occur on time semi-annually, are conducted professionally and ISP documentation is kept current in clients' files in a timely manner. Assure that clients' medical records are complete and kept current in program files as well as Raintree. Comply with privacy laws and requirements under HIPAA regulations and understand the consequences of non-compliance. Follow all safety procedures as outlined by the Injury, Illness and Prevention Program (IIPP) Safety Manual and understand the consequences of non-compliance. Comply with Licensing and Department of Disability Services' standards and regulations. Coordinate with Transportation Administrator assignments for Class C Drivers to meet program transportation needs. Finances Assure accuracy and timeliness of attendance records used for billing. Assure program credit card purchases, program and supply orders are accurate, documented and submitted on time. Support Director with management and documentation of monthly program expenses. Supervision and Training Facilitate interviewing, hiring and training of new employees. Assure that staff are trained in correct time sheet entries and submit timesheets on time for approval. Plan training schedule in coordination with Assistant Program Director to assure that all staff are safe in the workplace and competent in their job duties. Conduct performance appraisals. Conduct disciplinary actions and terminations as necessary and approved. Oversee day-to-day program operation ensuring all standards are met. Promote professional competence by encouraging staff to attend optional as well as mandatory trainings. Maintain records documenting staff trainings required by Licensing. Monitor that Vehicle Condition Report and Monthly Vehicle Reports are being tallied and submitted to the Transportation Administrator to meet timeline. Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policy and applicable laws. Communication Provide exceptional customer services, both internally and externally. Address stakeholder concerns/complaints and solve problems with supervisor as needed. Maintain effective communication with supervisor regarding program state of affairs including program needs and morale. Follow the agency's Grievance Procedures and assure that staff understand and follow the agency's Grievance Procedures. Facilitate general staff meetings on a weekly basis. Attend and participate in weekly Program meetings and other meetings or training as assigned. Attend and participate in monthly Program Supervisor's meetings. Attend and participate in bi-monthly Safety Meetings. Attend additional agency meetings as requested. Direct Service Promotes opportunities for individuals to develop skills and increase functional abilities in the areas of vocational, domestic, self-advocacy, and community integration. Monitor ISP meetings and attend when needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:
Minimum of an Associate of Arts degree in a field related to health, special education, welfare, rehabilitation or business, from an accredited college or university is recommended; a bachelor's degree is desirable. Two (2) years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Two (2) years previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Working Knowledge of:
General principles and practices of supervision and staff development. Philosophies, objectives and goals of community service organizations. Disabilities and related characteristics of individuals served by the agency. Effective interpersonal communication techniques. Community resources, related agencies, and available services. Basic computer skills using word processing, payroll and data management programs.
Language Skills:
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Follow written and verbal directions. Effectively be able to present information and respond to questions from supervisor, co-workers, clients and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Calculate figures and amounts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division,and percentages. Ability to apply basic math concepts.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Driver's License, proof of auto liability insurance, and a driving record that meets the standards of the agency. Possession of a current certificate in Adult CPR with AED from an approved provider. Possession of a current certificate in Basic First Aid from an approved provider. Position requires current fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice. Position requires pre-placement physical and back assessment. Position requires proof of negative TB test within the past twelve (12) months. Ability to complete
DSP I & II
Certification within required timeframe. ProAct certification within 90 days of hire.
