). Plans, assigns, monitors, observes, and assesses ongoing staff work based on priorities, difficulty, complexity, and requirements of assignments, and staff capabilities. Sets and adjusts short-term and long-term priorities. Leads the hiring process, initiing timely recruitment and selection of staff required to fill vacancies. Ensures staff receives proper training to fulfill requirements of their positions. Prepares and adjusts staff schedules considering the needs of the work area and the experience, training, and demonstred abilities of the assigned staff. Ensure necessary support and resources are applied to effectively meet organizion and customer needs. Provides subordine supervisors and staff with direction and determinions regarding policies, procedures, and guidelines. Establishes local performance standards and requirements for employees and volunteers. Observes and monitors staff performance. Conducts annual performance reviews of staff. Provides clear guidance to employees and volunteers regarding compliance with standards and execution of management directives. Ensures all employees follow safety, health, and risk management policies and procedures. Ensures proper and timely initiion and implemention of all personnel actions and assures quality reled to selection, assignments, training, promotions, disciplinary actions, and recognition of employees and volunteers. Oversees the development of a staffing schedule in accordance with established rios and group sizes and coordines with other CYP component directors for the use of employees who work across CY programs. Monitors schedule to ensure th program meets the required child to adult rios and th over-staffing is avoided. General duties comprise 75% of incumbent's time and include, but are not limited to: Program Operions Coordines daily operions of the SAC program to ensure activities are developmentally approprie, safe, and aligned with Navy CYP standards. Monitors and adjusts schedules to ensure compliance with staff-to-child rios, program coverage, and training requirements. Provides guidance and accountability for SAC staff during opering hours, modeling professional conduct and best practices in youth development. Coordines with Training and Curriculum (T&C) Specialists to implement age-approprie curriculum and reinforce intended learning outcomes. Collabores with T&C Specialists to deliver comprehensive staff development using blended methods, including in-person and Virtual Lab School modules. Provides day-to-day supervisory oversight of SAC staff, ensuring accountability, professional conduct, and adherence to Navy CYP standards. Supports implemention of individualized behavior and inclusion support plans in collaborion with T&C Specialists and parents, monitoring staff applicion of stregies to support children with special needs or behavioral challenges. Participes in emergency preparedness drills, ensures staff are trained in response procedures, and monitors adherence to health and safety regulions, including sanition and illness reporting protocols. Works collaborively with other CYP Directors in establishing and implementing combined Parent Involvement Board (PIB) th includes parents and representives from the CDC, Child and Youth Educion Services (CYES), Family Child Care (FCC), School Age Care (SAC), and Youth Program (as applicable to each installion). Maintains an active program of parental involvement to include a PIB, parent educion opportunities, and activities th provide parents with opportunities to participe. Training Develops, coordines, and delivers a comprehensive training program th is designed to expand the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies of individuals assigned to work with children and youth in Navy CYP, ensuring approprieness for the age group(s)/program area th the learner is assigned. Arranges for subject mter experts to conduct/support specialized training, as needed. Identifies ongoing training needs by evaluing individual's strengths and challenges and tailors training plans and content to meet the needs of learners. Works primarily with CY Program Assistants to ensure DoW standardized courses are completed, and competencies are documented as mastered within specified timeframes. Knowledge of transportion safety procedures and regulions applicable to the movement of children in government or program vehicles. Skill in educing, counseling, and advising childcare professionals and parents; assessing training and children and youth developmental needs. Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing community resources within the program framework to augment the program to meet installion objectives. Skill working with military families and an understanding of military lifestyles is. Skill in coordining staff schedules, program planning, and activity execution. Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operions of one or more organizional segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Educion A bachelor's degree reled to youth programs, such as youth recreion, physical educion, elementary educion, secondary educion, home economics with an emphasis in human development, youth development, or reled field of study and two years of full-time experience working with children and/or youth. OR A combinion of educion and experience; educion must include courses in a child-reled field and total minimum of 24 higher level semester hours.
