Residential Coordinator -
Interim Housing Program Location:
San Jose, CA 95124
Schedule:
Fri-Tue 1pm-9:30pm OR Fri-Tue 7am-3:30pm OR Tue-Sat 1pm-9:30pm
Compensation:
$26.73 - $31.68 per hour
Status:
Non-Exempt Driving Required About the Opportunity A mission-driven organization serving individuals experiencing homelessness is seeking a compassionate and dependable Residential Coordinator to support operations within an interim housing program. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for program participants while helping individuals work toward long-term stability and housing success. The Residential Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining day-to-day site operations, supporting guests, and collaborating with case management and operations teams to ensure a welcoming and inclusive living environment. Key Responsibilities Provide support and assistance to interim housing guests throughout their stay Maintain a safe, clean, and hospitable environment within the facility Conduct facility tours for new participants and guests Complete progress notes and documentation by the end of each shift Support case managers and participants in achieving individualized service goals Assist with meal support, phone monitoring, and general site operations Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support when needed Connect participants with community resources, referrals, and supportive services Encourage engagement through trauma-informed and person-centered approaches Promote adherence to program guidelines and community standards Collaborate closely with operations and case management teams Preferred Skills & Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Team-oriented mindset with the ability to build rapport quickly Ability to work independently and take initiative Experience working in social services, housing programs, shelters, behavioral health, or customer service environments is a plus Lived experience and bilingual skills are welcomed and valued Minimum Qualifications All levels of education and experience are encouraged to apply CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire Employment Requirements Candidates must be able to successfully complete: Background screening Drug screening Tuberculosis (TB) test Employment eligibility verification Driving Requirements This position requires driving as an essential function of the role.
Candidates must have:
Reliable transportation A valid driver's license Proof of insurance and vehicle ownership for any personal vehicle used for work duties Ability to qualify for company insurance coverage Why Join Us?
