Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic Lead Program Educator to support after-school and in-class photography programs serving students in grades 4-8. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals who enjoy working with youth and are interested in creative education. No prior photography experience is required—training and curriculum will be provided. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise small groups of students (up to 16 per class) Facilitate engaging, hands-on photography activities and projects Support students in developing creativity, confidence, and visual storytelling skills Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment Assist with basic camera use, file management, and simple editing tasks (training provided) Manage time effectively within 1-2 hour class sessions Communicate clearly with program coordinators and staff Qualifications Experience working with children (education, camps, coaching, tutoring, etc.) strongly preferred Positive attitude, patience, and strong communication skills Ability to manage a small group of students independently Dependable and punctual Interest in arts, photography, or creative learning is a plus (but not required) Ideal Candidate Enjoys mentoring and working with youth Comfortable leading activities and speaking in front of small groups Flexible, creative, and willing to learn new skills Passionate about making a positive impact in a community setting Thrives in an independent work environment Confident in decision making Understands chain of command What We Offer Entry-level opportunity with on-the-job training Supportive, creative work environment Meaningful experience working in arts education Opportunity to build teaching and leadership skills
