Unit 4- APC•Academic Professionals of California, Administrative, Probationary, Full Time, Education Support Professionals, On-site (work in-person at business location) Position Summary Full-time position available on or after July 1, 2026 for Credentials Office.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
None required.Experience:
Equivalent to one year of experience evaluating academic qualifications of applicants for public school credentials, certificates or permits. OR Equivalent to two years of experience processing academic records to determine eligibility for admissions or degrees. (One year of college level education (full-time equivalent) may be equated for up to one year of the academic record processing experience.) OR Equivalent to two years of experience performing technical, clerical or secretarial duties involving formulation, revision or interpretation of academic requirements or courses. (One year of full-time equivalent college level education may be equated for up to one year of the technical, clerical or secretarial experience.) Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in education, counseling, public administration, or a related field. One (1) year of experience reviewing or processing applications for credentials, certificates, permits, or similar academic or administrative programs. Prior experience in a CSU or higher education setting. Experience working with multiple systems or databases to enter, track, or retrieve student or program information such as Filemaker Pro and Peoplesoft. Experience reviewing and processing applications for teaching credentials, certificates, or permits in accordance with established procedures and requirements. Experience verifying academic records and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance with established credential requirements. Ability to interpret credential rules, regulations, and procedures to provide accurate information and assistance. Ability maintaining records, files, and documentation related to credential applications with attention to accuracy and detail. Experience providing forms, instructions, and general information to students, faculty, and staff regarding credentialing or program requirement processes. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Higher levels within the series build upon and include the knowledge and skill requirements and work assignments of lower levels. Knowledge of California state standards and requirements for teaching and service credentials. Knowledge of educational practices in California School systems related to employment of teachers with credentials, certificates or permits. Knowledge of school internship programs. A broad understanding of the credentialing process. Ability to interpret for others and correctly apply the California Education Code and other such regulations pertaining to the issuance of the various credentials, certificates and permits for public school teaching and service in California. Ability to organize and plan work to meet deadlines. Ability to schedule participants for interviews, workshops or teaching related activities. Ability to evaluate academic qualifications and determine credit to be granted toward credentials, certificates and permits. Ability to prepare accurate and timely correspondence, records, and reports. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. Special Conditions Position may be required to travel. Salary Range Anticipated starting salary will be $4,613- $4,844 per month plus excellent paid benefits. Salary will depend on the qualifications of the successful finalist. (Full range: $4,613
