Program Coordinator II- Youth/Teen programs position is responsible for assisting in the operation of Youth/Teen programs.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
Essential Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks 1. Assists with daily childcare operations Serves as a lead worker, including performing the duties of summer camp leader when required; when assigned to supervisor role, acts as a supervisor to a group of staff and works directly with Program Coordinator, Assistant Program Coordinator, or other supervisors as designated May help with scheduling, grouping, planning for childcare programs Maintains safety of children groups Serves as point of contact for parents 2. Supervises children Engages children in appropriate activities Uses appropriate positive reinforcement and discipline techniques Provides a safe area at all times 3. Follows childcare procedures Enforces childcare guidelines and general building guidelines Follows City of Westminster policies and procedures Follows opening and closing camp procedures Uses appropriate forms Processes check in and check out Maintains regular communication with supervisors Keeps the area and equipment in clean and safe condition Cleans and sterilizes toys and materials at specified times 4. Follows PR&L guest service philosophy 5. Must possess a valid driver's license, provide proof of a safe driving record, and maintain a safe driving record for continued employment 6. Maintains regular and punctual attendance Other Duties and Responsibilities 1. Attends staff meetings and trainings 2. Maintain State License File 3. Certification to teach CPR/AED/First Aide Infant and Child 4. Purchase supplies using a City Purchasing Card Incumbent is accountable for all duties of this job, and other projects and responsibilities may be added at the City's discretion.POSITION REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS/PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications Required :
Must be at least 21 years of age Infant/Child CPR certification within 90 days of hire A minimum of 1,040 hours (six months full-time) documented experience working with children 3 years of experience working in a Summer Camp/School setting At least three years prior experience supervising staff Valid driver's license and safe driving record Must have at least one of the following: Graduation from college with four-year degree in recreation, education (art, elementary, early childhood education) or a subject in the human services field and experience working with school-age children ages 5 to 15 At least two (2) years college training and six months full-time experience (1,040 hours) or equivalent part-time experience working with four or more school aged children (5-15) since turning 18 years old At least three (3) years documented full-time job experience working with four or more school-aged children (5-15) since turning 18 years oldPreferred :
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and skills, may be considered. Physical Requirements This position requires a moderate degree of physical stamina and strength, including the ability to: Frequently sit, stand and walk through a multi-level facility Occasionally squat, bend, kneel, twist, climb, balance and reach over head Occasionally lift, carry, push or pull items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds Frequently use hands and fingers for fine manipulation; occasionally use light and firm grasp Frequently see objects up close to perform office tasks and far away to observe activity for safety hazards or problems Constantly use hearing to interact with guests and staff and recognize trouble outside of view Occasionally use sufficient physical strength, stamina and agility to perform emergency work in various capacitiesWORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Indoor and outdoor work is performed in a high public use, multilevel recreation facility where loud noise and multiple events and activities at one time may cause a distraction. During camps, travel to field trip sites and exposure to public is regular. Exposure to periods of high activity and stress under demanding conditions. The position requires a great deal of communication with City employees, the public, and outside agencies. Required Materials and Equipment Cleaning materials including vacuum, brooms, disinfectant and other cleaning supplies.
