Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the successful planning, execution, and delivery of engineering development projects within the organization. This role focuses on managing cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Main tasks and responsibilities Lead, manage, and mentor engineering project managers and technical leads responsible for internal development initiatives; these could include both internally and externally funded activities and programs that conclude with the transition of products to scale manufacturing Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple concurrent engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget Collaborate with executive leadership and key stakeholders to define project priorities, requirements, and success criteria Utilize project management best practices, tools, and standards to improve project visibility, predictability, and performance. Project execution will follow with Nel Design & Development processes as applicable Allocate and manage internal engineering resources efficiently to maximize productivity and project outcomes Identify and mitigate risks and roadblocks impacting project delivery; proactively resolve issues to maintain momentum Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and communicate updates to senior management and other stakeholders Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within engineering teams Champion the adoption of new technologies, engineering methodologies, and process improvements that drive operational excellence Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations Key Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar technical field (Master's or MBA preferred) 10+ years of experience in engineering project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role Proven track record to drive complex, multi-discipline development projects to completion on time and on budget Ability to develop, plan and implement short- and long-range goals Strong leadership skills with experience building and leading high-performing technical teams Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to drive change, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Project; familiarity with ERP is a plus Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus Able to travel (up to 10%) as needed The above statements reflect the principal functions of the position and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job.
