Job Description

Extended School Year (ESY) Coordinator
SUMMARY/GOAL OF POSITION
Plan and oversee the daily operations of the special education summer programs for Winchester Public Schools 2026.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES PROGRAM PLANNING
Determine staffing needs in collaboration with the Director of Student Services Interview and hire summer school teaching staff. Prepare summer school program letter of invitation for student distribution. Determine and order classroom materials prior to the start of school Coordinate training and support for teachers in preparation for the summer school program.
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Coordinate room usage Serve as principal liaison with summer school students, families and district administration Supervision of special education staff and programs Handle all discipline cases in accordance with the District Student Handbook Conduct parent conferences and phone calls, as needed Manage the daily operation of summer school. (e.g., attendance, transportation, instructional concerns etc) Maintain all necessary records regarding student performance.
STAFFING
Plan and conduct professional development in June prior to the start of the program on June 29. Plan and conduct staff meetings if necessary during program hours Design duty schedules for staff Sign time sheets for staff
PROGRAM EVALUATION
Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
QUALIFICATIONS TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
•Must have a Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must hold a Connecticut Administrator Certificate (092).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
6th year degree from an accredited college or university.

Summer school preparation period April-June; summer school program June 29 July 16, 2026;
SUMMER PROGRAMS
June 29 July 16, Monday through Thursday 8:30 12:30 students, staff 8-1.
COMPENSATION
$3500
