Job Description

Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is looking for a Program Manager to support our Department of Energy (DOE) customer. The Program Manager is the primary face to the customer and is responsible for overall contract performance and customer satisfaction. This is an on-site position located at the James V. Forrestal Building in Washington, D.C.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing day-to-day customer interaction including setting and managing customer expectations and effectively communicating with the customer to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions, including addressing complaints and resolving problems. Continually seeking opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships. Planning, coordinating, and executing work across a growing number of activities. Ensuring adequate staffing levels to ensure continuity of support. Directing/supervising project team personnel, including those on cross-competency teams at various locations. Briefing leadership and staff, including the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), on program status and milestones.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and minimum of five (5) years of program management experience with contracts that exceed $5 million per year in operations and technical support, managing integrated work forces across multiple functions. Minimum of five (5) years' direct experience working with Federal Government customers. Must have experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE). Must have demonstrated experience making hiring decisions and understanding customer's needs for each specific position. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desired Qualifications:
PMP certification preferred.
Other Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain DOE clearance if required in the future. 5-10% travel required. Multiple factors contribute to determining the final pay for a position. These include, but are not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align with the specific role, geographic location, educational background, and contract provisions related to labor categories specific to the position. We are committed to offering a competitive compensation package that reflects the value and expertise that each candidate brings to our team. The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is $160,000 - $200,000.
