This dynamic role includes teaching practical independent living skills, developing entrepreneurial experiences through student-run microbusinesses, coordinating community-based learning opportunities, and preparing students for meaningful adult outcomes. The Program Manager is responsible for creating engaging, hands-on curriculum that fosters independence, self-determination, financial literacy, problem-solving, and real-world application while aligning with LiFT's mission and vision. Key Responsibilities Instructional Leadership Design and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons focused on independent living, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, consumer skills, home maintenance, self-advocacy, health and wellness, transportation, and community participation. Facilitate social-emotional learning classes that support self-awareness, emotional regulation, communication, relationship building, and workplace readiness. Integrate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners. Create authentic and engaging learning experiences that help students apply classroom concepts to real-life situations. Entrepreneurship & Microbusiness Development Oversee student-run microbusinesses and entrepreneurial projects that teach business fundamentals, customer service, production, marketing, sales, and financial management. Support students in developing products, services, and business ideas while building confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Coordinate participation in community markets, vendor events, and business showcases. Teach practical business concepts including budgeting, inventory management, pricing, profit and loss, customer relations, and professional communication. Community-Based Instruction & Life Skills Training Plan and coordinate community-based learning experiences that reinforce classroom instruction and promote independence. Facilitate instruction in transportation training, banking, shopping, housing, recreation, personal safety, and community navigation. Develop partnerships with local businesses and organizations to provide experiential learning opportunities. Support students in applying life skills across a variety of real-world settings. Program Development & Team Collaboration Track student progress through data collection, assessments, and individualized planning. Collaborate with educators, therapists, job coaches, and support staff to ensure student success. Participate in team meetings, transition planning, and family communication. Assist with program growth initiatives, special events, and community outreach efforts.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Business, Entrepreneurship, Human Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, or a related field. Experience teaching or working with neurodiverse individuals. Strong understanding of independent living skills, adult transition services, or workforce development. Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to develop creative, hands-on learning experiences. Preferred:
Experience managing a small business, nonprofit program, or entrepreneurial venture. Experience with financial literacy, business development, marketing, or community engagement. Background in social-emotional learning curriculum or behavioral support. Experience facilitating community-based instruction or transition programming. Ability to create and adapt materials and approaches to support varied learning styles and needs. Additional Eligibility Qualifications A valid Florida Driver's License is required. Successful completion of a State and Federal FDLE Level 2 Background Screening. Must attain CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment. Working Conditions Classroom, community, business, and vocational training environments. Frequent local travel for community-based instruction, business partnerships, and experiential learning opportunities. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for special events, markets, or community activities. Physical demands may include standing, lifting supplies, transporting materials, and supporting students during community outings. Salary & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience. Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Days and hours may vary. Regular attendance; 100% onsite; strict adherence to work schedule. Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with LiFT's approved compensation plan. Performance evaluations conducted a minimum of two times per school year. Travel Some local travel is required.
