Non-Exempt About Gilda's Club South Florida Gilda's Club South Florida exists to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. Founded in memory of comedian Gilda Radner, the organization was built on her vision of a welcoming place where no one faces cancer alone. Gilda's Club South Florida opened its red doors in 1997 as the second affiliate of the Cancer Support Community. Established by two families in memory of their daughters, the Club was created to serve individuals and families across the tri-county area. Today, Gilda's Club South Florida is the region's largest provider of free psychosocial cancer support, serving more than 4,500 adults and children annually. Programs include support groups, education, healthy living classes, resource navigation, and cancer prevention, transition, and survivorship services. Gilda's Club South Florida is a licensed affiliate of the Cancer Support Community, the largest global network of psychosocial cancer support.
