Neuromuscular Research Program Coordinator Brooks Rehabilitation - 3.6 Jacksonville, FL Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification Doctoral degree Team leadership Word processing Spreadsheets BLS Certification Leading team collaboration initiatives Neurology research Legal compliance Full Job Description The neuromuscular research program coordinator (NRPC) reports to the Director of Neuromuscular Research for administrative oversight (e.g. employment eligibility, departmental responsibilities, and performance review). The NRPC will work closely with the Director of Neuromuscular Research and neurologic rehabilitation program investigators regarding day-to-day responsibilities and providing oversight and direction to the neuromuscular research program. The NRPC will work closely with the Vice President of Clinical Integration and Research regarding program initiatives and processes. The NRPC oversees a variety of complex research related activities and works with the Director of Neuromuscular Research to oversee and develop the research program. The NRPC works with research investigators to plan, develop, and conduct research studies related to neurologic rehabilitation. The NRPC is also responsible for tracking the status of all neurologic research related activities conducted through the Brooks Rehabilitation Clinical Research Center (BRCRC) and reporting this information to research leadership, including the Director of Neuromuscular Research. The NRPC serves as a resource to study coordinators and Brooks clinical investigators involved in the planning and development of additional neurologic research through the BRCRC. The NRPC is involved in the dissemination of research findings and promotion of the BRCRC and the neuromuscular research across the Brooks Rehabilitation community, at national and international conferences, and peer-reviewed scientific journals. Additionally, the NRPC serves as a leader and mentor, providing guidance to all staff within the neuromuscular research program including research assistants, study coordinators, recruitment & engagement specialist, and clinician scientists. This leadership role is also responsible for organizing and leading staff and team-related meetings as well as research planning and development. The NRPC supervises study team members involved in neurologic research at Brooks Rehabilitation. This includes study coordinators, study clinicians, clinician scientists and research assistants. Supervisory functions include the planning and execution of research program initiatives to ensure successful operations and all study-related activities across the program.
Qualifications:
Minimal qualifications include a clinical doctoral degree and professional license as an occupational or physical therapist with at least 3 years of previous research experience. Residency training and Board-certification (or equivalent) in a neurologic specialty area of practice is required. Basic Life Support (CPR) required. The NRPC position requires strong leadership and communication skills as well as high levels of self-motivation and self-regulation. The position also requires skills in planning, organization, teamwork, and analytical/critical thinking. The NRPC should also have experience coordinating research projects and mentoring others. The NRPC must demonstrate proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software as well as working with web-based applications. Current knowledge of state and federal rules, regulations, and standards governing clinical research is also required. This position may require long periods of sitting, bending, standing, walkingThe , weightlifting, stretching and other exercise/fitness activities associated with research study interventions. The NRPC must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of materials, supplies, and/or equipment. The NRPC must be adaptable to frequently changing situations and a variety of difficult problems that require analytical thinking, persistence, and committed effort to reach solutions.
RESEARCH RELATED MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Development Provide oversight and guidance to project team on BRCRC and Brooks Rehabilitation policy and procedure as well as regulatory requirements and standards. Assist research director and investigators in preparing protocols and other documents for IRB submission. Assist investigators in determining study budget. Oversee the identification and resolutions of operations and logistical research challenges. . Lead organization and communication within study teams and across the neuromuscular research program. Liaison between project team and BRCRC. Assist investigators with preparing and submitting proposals for funding. Provide guidance and oversight to study team to ensure knowledge of IRB policy and procedure for the review boards most commonly utilized by specific Brooks research program. Provide oversight and guidance to study coordinators for IRB submission process. Collaborate with investigators to prepare IRB submission documents. Oversee study coordinators to ensure appropriate record keeping and communications between IRB and project teams within specific Brooks research program. Conducting Research Provide guidance and lead development and conduct of recruitment activities for specific Brooks research program. Ensure effective and appropriate recruitment practices for specific Brooks research program. Oversee and ensure effective scheduling practices for projects within specific Brooks research program. Provide guidance and leadership to coordinators for record-keeping regarding participant activities for projects within specific Brooks research program. Collaborate with program investigators and research director to determine standard procedures for specific Brooks research program. Collaborate with program investigators to resolve issues related to tracking and reporting within specific Brooks research program. Ensure appropriate practices are being used for projects within specific Brooks research program. Collaborate with program investigators to resolve issues related to tracking and reporting within specific Brooks research program. Oversee study team, working collaboratively with investigators on data preparation and analysis as appropriate. Dissemination lead the development of manuscripts and ensure publication of research findings from specific Brooks research programs Lead the development of research presentations and dissemination of findings from specific Brooks research programs Collaborate with research director and investigators to identify additional opportunities to disseminate research activities and findings. Lead and develop peer-reviewed publications and presentations
OPERATIONS RELATED MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Policy & Procedures Maintain current knowledge of BRCRC and Brooks Rehabilitation policy and procedures. Adhere to BRCRC and Brooks Rehabilitation policies. Report policy & procedure needs to lead investigator. Regulatory Compliance Maintain current knowledge of general regulatory requirements and standards as well as those that apply specifically to the particular Brooks research program. Oversee study coordinators and study personnel to ensure they are current in their knowledge of BRCRC and Brooks Rehabilitation policy and procedures as well as research related regulatory requirements and standards. Resource Allocation Identify resource needs and lead development of resources for specific Brooks research program. Oversee communication with investigators within specific Brooks research program about resource availability and access procedures. Lead the development and distribute resources to investigators as appropriate. Assist investigators with accessing resources as appropriate. Communication Communicate policy and procedure information to lead investigators and individual project investigators. Communicate the needs of lead investigators and individual project teams to research director Communicate information regarding potential or active projects related to the specific research program research director Education & Training Maintain required education and training for job duties. Communicate education and training requirements to investigators and study personnel within specific Brooks research program. Oversee study personnel in meeting education and training requirements for participating in research at Brooks. Reporting Report on projects under development and current status to lead investigator director for projects within specific Brooks research program. Report on funding proposals and awards to lead investigator and research manager for projects within specific Brooks research program. Report on IRB submissions and current status to lead investigator and research manager for projects within specific Brooks research program. Reporting of recruitment activities to lead investigator and research manager for projects within specific Brooks research program. Reporting of participant scheduling activities to lead investigator and research manager. Relationship Building & Management Foster an environment within the specific Brooks research program that is positive, supportive, collaborative, high performing, and innovative. Identify and build important relationships, internally and externally, for the specific Brooks research program. Marketing & Promotion Serve as a spokesperson for specific Brooks research program. Will work closely with the recruitment & engagement specialist and the marketing & promotions team to ensure proper dissemination of all study-related activities and projects.
